In Hidden Love, his character is kind of poor early on and styles himself professionally. He really isn't into fashion. In Mr. Bad, his character has money to spare and he ends up wanting top-notch of everything. He dresses like a model because that's what he is into.

She's fine. Her VA could have been better but I personally think she's doing amazing here. And this is coming from someone who could not watch any of her dramas prior to The Long Ballad. Maybe this drama is just not for you?
I now think killer is ML's dad (killers silhouette was oddly similar to his) and his mom didn’t abandon him but went missing (killed). And if his mother did abandon him, she is actually GMS, because the movie thing was kind of sus.
