As you said, being self-destructive is a part of being a byronic hero. But why say it was all pointed at Fah? Why not on himself too for every word he says to hurt her?Don`t you think he suffers while he punishes Fah for her betrayal?"Shouldn't you want to see them grow, flourish, and be happy? Or cry in pain and misery? " is a very beautiful depiction of love, but in this case it was exactly what Saichon did when he reunites with his wife. But the revelation of her betrayal stopped that (also one of the reasons the title has "Evil Game" in it)Yasa is a forgotten part by the time, but Saichon still uses Prae as a tool to hurt and blackmail Fah. "his idea of Nangfah is more important to him than the woman Fahlada has become." is something i don`t agree with. Fahlada at the end of the day, is still the same person Nang Fah was- child-like, care-free,naive and mischievous. But only her Fahlada has all her memories and true identity back. Saichon never wanted to destroy her identity,or make her into a woman she "is not". How can he, when she is who she is.We can`t forget that Saichon knows neither of Fah`s "being a victim herself"...and can we really blame him that much for only thinking about his" passion and his pain."? He wouldn`t be who he is if he would have let the betrayal go that easily. Or forgiven all the men she has betrayed him with...in my mind he is neither selfish or abusive when i think deeply behind his actions (he is after all NOT anywhere near close to Kawee`s evilness from "Sawan Biang"). He is just a man who can`t live without her, he has no pride when it comes for his love. And we all know that he was even willing to blindly forget her betrayals even before he knew the whole truth. I am not asking for anyone to like the character and Anti-heroness of Saichon/Charles...i am just asking to understand him on a deeper level.
"This is the depiction of an abusive relationship where love is used as an excuse to control the opposite person's behaviour. " I have much more to say about this also...and also argue about it in the dynamic between Fah and Saichon, but i just have not the time right now...and either way i wouldn`t succeed on changing your mind i guess. I am happy that you are so open minded about your views on love and relationships...and i also recommend you to stay off from slap-kiss dramas then, where the male hero always makes the female lead suffer.Hope you find a good romantic drama of your taste soon.!
Imagine yourself married to the love of your life, living in a exotic paradise with bliss and happiness. Then one day evil strangers forcefully takes your wife away from you and beats you bloody dead and shoots you twice. And trying to find one Fahlada all over Thailand and the world is something almost impossible. He rescues one man from thieves one day, and that american man decides to adopt him. He lives his paradise of a home just for this chance to find his wife...and over 3 years he rises to the top as a succesful bisninessman. No longer the impatient and temparamental islander he was before, but now a ambitious and understanding tycoon. Fate leads him to Chompoprae (Fah`s sister) who becomes his business partner...and soon he gets to know that his wife have been near him all along. In fact they are neighbours. He gets to know that his wife have forgotten all about him and decides to woo her. But obstacles arise cuz of the villians...in which a scene where he gets to know that his wife had never even forgotten about him, but had pretended to and that she never want to have anything to do with him. She is ashamed that she once before were married to an islander. He even hears this and even asked his assistant to check if it was her voice, and it was!
His shock and heartbreak at this (supposed) betrayal are outstanding, as he had spent every second in the 3 years without her looking, thinking and longing for her. He never asked for or wanted anything but her, and that she so brutally crush his love for her was his utterly devastation. You have to understand his character a more deeply in that department. He is a very passionate soul...and when he loves. He loves forever. After his wife`s (supposed) betrayal he becomes a broken man filled with rage and hatred that lusts for vengeance. But we all see...that while he hurts her with his bitter insults and emotional blackmail...he is the one who always ends up hurting the most. He is a byronic type of hero, which means his feelings are so passionate that they can destroy everything around him. He both lives and breathes his love for his wife,Fah.
A very exciting, romantic and sexy slap-kiss lakhorn with a hot alpha-hero and wonderful good-looking heroine.I really enjoyed watching Put and Lily co-star together in this amazing drama.Put did an amazing job in his performance as the Anti-hero Kongpope, but damn does his selfish plans backfire on him when he falls in love with Neung. This is a lakhorn i never tire of re-watching!
I love how you analyzed this drama..and the complex tortured hero Sila, and his romance with Mintra. Thank you for making it so perfect, as i love this drama to the very core!
Great acting by everyone in the whole cast, skill-ful directing and wonderful story-line that develops in a different way than how the older version did.The more years go by, the better the action scenes gets in lakhorns, even if its far from perfection now either.I also love the background music, especially "I need to get you out of my head" and the old song (that is originally from the older version that also shows in this 2019 version sung by Tor) " Hua Jai Kong Ter".This is a slap-kiss romantic thriller drama...so expect lots of forced kissess, burning chemistry, sexy romance, murder, games of win or take, jealousy, heart-break, badass sexy hero...and a brave heroine who dares to love him.!
Kawee wasn’t a bad boy he was truly a bad guy, abusive to the extreme.
I never said he was a badboy. A badboy is too much kind for a heartless creature like him. He would have been stampled as a villian if he hadn`t fallen in love with Narin. So we have to be satisfied with the term Anti-hero slash villian.
I meant the j-version of it. In the manga and anime he also tried to rape Makino..and in both k-version and c-version he sexually assaults her by forcefully trying to kiss her. Tsukasa is a true badboy..and more of a heartless and fearless Anti-hero who crush anyone who stands in his way.
Warning you first, most of these heroes are in the truly cruel category. Their characters almost borders on being villians like Kawee who kidnaps and rapes the heroine.
