This is an unexpected case for me. The beginning was very Wattpad-esque, very short series-code. I even wondered why a popular actress like Esther Yu would be in this drama... But, wow, the chemistry between Esther and Heyu won this drama over. If it weren't for those two, I doubt this drama would have been as well-received as it is now. The editing of this drama was really d***sh** mess. Okay, there was chinese censorship, but other dramas weren't this badly edited. If there hadn't been some explanations from the novel readers, I wouldn't have known the storyline was supposed to be. How did they get to that transition? And yes, the romantic relationship between adopted siblings who were raised as family is a bit questionable. Because FL only realized they weren't real siblings when she was almost in her 20th. After all this time, FL thought they were family. Luckily, there was some explanations from the novel readers, otherwise, I would have been disgusted by this setup. ML knew from the start and never considered them real family because FL's own family set the boundaries. I just realized that romantic stories between pseudo-siblings are very common in East Asian dramas. It's like a fetish for them. Even a spectacular actress like Song Hye Kyo has acted in this genre. Urgghhh.... I'm so grateful to the novel readers who were willing to explain their romantic transitions so the plot is understandable. Because once again, the editing of this drama is terrible compared to other dramas with the same censorship process.
Both actors are brilliant, Esther and Heyu truly act like a couple destined by heaven. I thought Esther' otp in acting will be Dylan Wang. But, not right now. Heyu took the crown gracefully 🤣
Heyu's gaze is extraordinary. I've rarely seen a look like that, so piercingly-hot, seductive, very yearning, that gaze is not like acting but someone who is really fallin' in love. I saw that gaze again in thai sweet. It's so transparent when they wore those beautiful traditional thai costumes. I've seen Heyu's other dramas, and his image was very different here. His acting in SAL became top-notch.
Esther's character was very strange in the first story, so childish that I thought her acting skills had declined... but seeing her crying scene when her lover had a tragic accident was truly heartbreaking. Maybe it's just me, but I didn't like her childish acting in this drama because it seemed exaggerated. Esther's normal acting is already cute in my opinion.
Even though I only started watching this drama halfway through, I looked forward to it every day thanks to their chemistry. I was enchanted by them. I hope they'll be together again in another drama with a better script. They deserve it.

It's the best for me. I follow some dramas, old and new. But, there is no drama like this one. And i'm very picky with everything i watched. Just few episodes didn't interest me, i'll dropped immediately. That's why, i felt amazed of myself that i can finished tteotm without dropped or skipped it even once. Lately i've been watching c-drama again. In my conclusion, there is still no drama like tteotm. A wonderful story with epic fighting scene, beautiful fantasy setting and costumes, terrific acting from the actors, the storytelling that couldn't make you bored, 3 worlds and you can tell each story has their own charms. The ending OMG... I'm still lost at words. Everybody said it's difficult to move on from this drama and it's true ToT

It's weird for me to say this but wu xie had more chemistry with the female ghost in epi. 16 than with a ning 😂 When wu xie run for his life in those zigzag roads to escape from the ghost, atm i thought 'wth... Why are they so hot 😳 it's supposed to be frightening'.... The scene was just split seconds and i replayed it several times to make sure my eyes didn't deceive me 🤣🤣🤣 I know the probability is almost zero but i hope these two will meet again in another drama as lovers. Although the chance is almost 0% 😃 but who knows the future....
