I'm on ep 3 and really really pleasantly surprised by this drama. I was not expecting to like Boyfriend on Demand at all but I'm really enjoying the combination of comedy, romance and the virtual reality aspect of this! Almost feels like I'm the one doing the virtual dating game haha
Also, jisoo's acting is not bad here! I feel Seo mirae as a character fits her like a glove and its really helping with the immersion aspect.
Don't even get me started on the guys of this show, I'm not even an ardent fan of the actors that have showed up until now - Seo in guk, seo kang joon and lee soo hyuk - but this drama does a great job of really elevating their charms and making them seem so dreamy! Its been a while since I've felt hooked on a kdrama, can't wait to see the rest of the episodes :)
such a great first ep. the cast seems so solod^^ youngji is such a gem and eunjin is such a cutie the way she tries to keep up with the high energy of the unnies<3
super disappointed with how this drama's turning out, its become draggy and the execution is just meh (and is it just me or were the transitions between the scenes for the recents eps like REALLY abrupt?) and just wasting all the talent that these actors have esp angry about the writing for Jamie! Lee chung ah -who's now become one of my fav actresses- played her with so much of charisma that i'm always on the lookout for her scenes but her character isn't being given justice at all and for god's sake what exactly is her ability that they showed us a glimpse of in the 6th ep? are they gonna pretend like it never happened ?
Its a pity how its turned out, the only enjoyable eps for me were eps3-6 and the 8th one ; after that things just went downhill. i swear some of the theories that the viewers had come up with was better than what the drama is putting out rn
Can we talk about Jae Woong for a hot second? This turnover (not that we didn't see it coming) was insanely cool…
yesss honestly we were all so distracted by the fact that he was getting abused and his interactions with Jamie that no one saw it coming that he could be the killer tho we all knew he was the third child...and damn the way the look in his eyes and his mannerisms changed was just so cool :O
i decided to watch it for my girl so juyeon and i'm actually surprised at how much i liked it? the drama is cute af and omg the SL syndrome is gonna be strong in this one!
After watching the 9th ep Awaken was literally the only thing on my mind throughout the night and I’ve got a wholeass essay about my thoughts lol
So from what I’m seeing, we’ve got the killer for the present day murders which is the third child from the village who has DID. I don’t want to say his name is Jaewoong since it seems like that’s the name of the shy and timid alter who’s a hacker and whose been talking with Jamie until now. I’m not sure who among the two is the host of the body but who ever the “evil one” is has been going around killing not only anyone who gets in his way but also everyone from WNV who’s responsible for his suffering -and now that it seems like he’s located DJW and Jamie he’ll try to take revenge on them for leaving him after the 3 of them had destroyed the village. Anyway RIP to my Jamie x Jaewoong ship I’ll miss their convenience store scenes so much (I swear shipping people in crime dramas never has any benefits lol)
Speaking about destroying the village, imo the kid who was mainly responsible for that night 28 years ago was Jamie. She might have forgotten about it as a way to cope with the trauma she has about the effects of her actions; also in the 6th ep we got Jamie getting hints from her dreams that the child saying the riddle (about it being day or night) was her and then there was her voiceover at the end of that ep where she said that she had liked riddles from when she was young but now she was no longer satisfied with just finding the answers. This definitely points to Jamie being the killer back then. Even tho Jungwoo had told her that she wasn’t and that he was the “monster” that did it, its likely that he was just trying to protect her from the ugly truth, just like he had been protecting her from when they were young.
That being said, I wonder why Jamie and Jungwoo had been close from even when they were in WNV. In the 9th ep we got that dude from the village telling Jungwoo that he never opened up to anyone so why was he so protective of her since then? It doesn’t seem like they’re siblings since creepy scientist lady had only mentioned DJW being her son and from one of Jungwoo’s dreams we see her trying to even hurt Jamie. I’m still curious about why she tried to do that -maybe it’s because Jamie was even more of a special child than DJW who his mother was proud of? Or did she somehow foresee that Jamie could destroy the village back then? Anyway, since scientist lady still seems alive we’ll get answers from her in the later eps I think. There’s also the guy who’s supposedly over a 100 years old, I’m curious about who that is.
I think another thing that needs to be addressed are the visible flaws in the drama like for example Hyewon not knowing her dad works for the foundation and Jamie and her team discussing their case with the meeting door open. I mean I should’ve realized this drama will have some of those mistakes from earlier on when Jamie went missing and nobody gave a damn about it even when she showed up 3 days later in a hospital gown . Also from the past few eps -probably because they’re introducing other characters now- the focus on Jamie hasn’t been prominent and she hasn’t been able to deduce much (even that reporter was able to figure out a lot more lol). This is a pity cuz she really is my fav character and I want to know more about her and her abilities but I’m guessing they’ll only show her “awakening” when she finally learns the truth or is put in a situation where her abilities are triggered like in the 6th ep where she calculated the distance of the truck coming at her and was able to tell the time. Hopefully we’ll see more of her in tonight’s ep when/ if she meets with the third child from the village?
With that being said, I still think this is a really good drama just from the sheer amount of theories you can come up with, so the enjoyment rate is definitely high. Thought drama’s execution isn’t perfect and they’re not paying attention to some details that could make or break it, it still has me engaged with the bigger picture and the characters who I’m really starting to get attached to. Its been a while since a crime drama’s managed to be captivate my attention to this extent so I’m always looking forward to the new eps and theories. I just hope they’ll give us a happy ending tho, cuz the way thing are going now it seems like either one or all of the three kids might face a tragic end :/
it's true! I fell in love with this series ... as much as I want to quickly understand what is going to end! But…
yeah i liked the Jamie x Jungwoo dynamics at the start but then later when the drama started hinting that Jamie x Jaewoong could be a thing i instantly started shipping them instead XD But rn more than the romance aspect i just want to know more about the WNV and what exactly happened "that night"
At this point i'm way too invested in this drama (and Jamie lol) to drop it but man did they lose an opportunity to make things more interesting in ep 7. They could have given us something more solid like clues about who the real killer is, or about Jamie's past or why Jung woo is pretending to be the killer or even scenes with Jamie and Jaewoong 's abilities shown clearly -but they didn't and it feels like they just lost a whole ep because of that.
The major thing that this ep did was establish the love interests clearly -and that's about it. I'm not too crazy about the DJW x GHW pairing but i guess its bearable lol. Too bad we didn't get Jamie x Jaewoong scenes today because they're interactions are such a pleasure to watch and they're the characters that interest me the most. (I even hope that it will be Jamie who'll save Jaewoong from his abuser)
Anyway, regardless of who's gonna be paired up with whom, i hope this drama really gets back on track with the crime/mystery aspect so we can all just go back to making theories lol
i can already tell that this is gonna be a good drama. esp in awe of all the dialogues and the direction, there's something really unique and refreshing about it. Also this is the first time in a while that I've found a ML really interesting -my attention usually goes to the FLs and supporting characters first but the writer here actually crafted KSG to be such an interesting character i just felt super invested in the story.....
Since i actually like the main leads here, and the slice of life theme, the only thing i would need is more of the second leads. Seo Dan ah , while you can't exactly call her a "loveable" character, she's definitely amusing and someone who you wanna see more of. I'm guessing her character development will happen once she meets her love interest (Young hwa) who definitely needs more screen time cuz i really liked his character from what little they've already shown us
is it just me or does it seem like jung woo and jamie are siblings? I mean he obviously cares so much about her to the point that he even made her get surgery, and seeing that scene from their childhood where the kid versions of jungwoo and jamie hug idk it just seemed like a big brother being protective of his sister.
And yess the 6th ep finally gave us a glimpse into jamie's and jaewoong's abilities and i have to say i need to see them use that a bit more. i keep replaying that scene where jamie calculated the distance that truck would stop at and took a step back -idk that scene just looked really cool, by that i mean Jamie lol (god i luv her so much)
Because of this drama i now have something to look forward to each week! Loving absolutely everything about this and Lee Chung Ha/Jamie really steals the show for me, how is it that each scene she appears in is so interesting??
And as much as i hope the show isn't damaged by romance plots, if there is going to be any definite loveline at all, jamie and jaewoong should be endgame! I love their interactions so much and their chemistry is so good
Ok, so I'm here to know if I should give it a try for the sake of NGM (I already know I'll hate Kim Seol Hyun's…
judging from the first 2 eps, the drama itself is pretty good imo and NGM is great here (as always). Romance is there in the tags and looking at the drama it honestly seems like its NGM and Lee Chung Ah that would have a loveline if the drama does have one at all. You'll know it once you see the drama , i mean they're the ones who gets the whole staring into each others eyes for 1 minute straight on their first meeting and the different camera angles lol . Seolhyun just seems like someone who who has a crush on NGM's character but i think that's about it
Part of me wishes that NGM really is the killer, that would make things a lot more interesting and tbh i wouldn't really mind the Jamie vs Do Jungwoo dynamics because they do have chemistry
I'm trusted NGM with this one and just started it -pretty good i'd say...its not like it stands out from the tons of crime dramas already out there but the 2 eps were a nice start.
btw i'm not sure why Seolhyun was casted for this since her acting isn't that great imo . I mean sure until now her character itself isn't that interesting but i'm sure there are others who could play Gong Hye Won way better. Hopefully as this goes on she gets better....
In the very unlikely scenario that I do want to get married one day, Jinhee and Sung Joon's marriage is what I want. You could see that these two were in a very mature and healthy relationship where they gave each other the space to grow both as individuals and professionals in their working fields and didn't in the least bit try to dominate their partner in the name of "love" or "i know better ". But you could always tell they cared and tried not get into unnecessary disagreements (I esp rmb that scene where if it wasn't for his walking stick getting stuck, sung joon was ready to leave his car in like the middle of a highway and go after Jinhee cuz she left after their fight). They weren't the traditional lovey-dovey couple (nor was the drama set up for that) but you could tell there was a lot of mutual respect for each other going on and that felt so good to see.
I swear, couples in mystery/thriller/crime dramas >>>>>> couples in rom-coms
I really really liked this drama tbh, it had a way of drawing you in -tho objectively looking at it some might find it a bit draggy. My only real complaint is the ending -it just didn't do it for me. I guess I was expecting something that fell within my lines of a more grand and happier ending (and this is coming from someone who likes "tragic endings" and open-ended ones cuz usually there's more depth and a taste of reality to them) With this one however I just felt like all the efforts from our female leads was rendered useless. I was like, "all their hard work for this?" . Yes, I know in the bigger picture they managed to save thousands of lives and contain the evil spirit temporarily but it just fell really anti-climatic. A season 2 would be a great fix to this tho. But with that being said, I don't regret watching The Cursed, it gave me some great characters (Baek Sojin and Jin Kyung), great acting, a plot that got me super invested, the really nice relationship between the female leads, the great dynamics between the married couple Im Jinhee and her husband, and even some random but well-fitting comic relief!
Also, jisoo's acting is not bad here! I feel Seo mirae as a character fits her like a glove and its really helping with the immersion aspect.
