Just finished it today. Generally, everyone would say this has a HE. But for me, it's bittersweet. Reason below…
The main CP has a very satisfying HE. But this is not a romcom (even though the first few episode started off like one). Towards the second half of the drama, it is war and political heavy. Oh, the nation was also saved and prospering towards the end, and finally they got a good ruling emperor with strong clean ministers. So yes, generally a HE. But I couldn't help feeling bitter for a lot of the characters. General Zhou and General Qin 💔 Fan Xuan and Zhou Gao Lang 💔 and all the emperors have to be so miserable 💔 Jiang He and LZS.... I don't even know what to feel about this big plot twist....
I always wonder what drove LZS's evil plot for revenge. It was never reveal until the very end. And for someone as smart and resourceful as LZS, how could he made such a grave and stupid mistake? That alone is very anti-climatic and very unsatisfying for an almost perfect villain. And also his obsession with FL just doesn't make sense as well. Their encounter were so brief and FL couldn't even remember him. SML must fall in love with FL because that's how all romcom was written.
As far as we know this is a single season series. Not many kdramas have more than one season.
ohhh my mistake. someone told me episode 10 was last and I thought I have to wait for season 2 or part2 like The Glory. Kingdom also has few season. Netflix kdrama tend to do that and I got frustrated 🤣
His character and acting both became great after the senior detective died.
absolutely agree. The drama is trying to build too many characters and backstories. But glad that it didnt try to build romance between mr cop and sanyang. Good that it was very subtle.
Finished few days ago. Couldnt believe I felt asleep a few times watching a horror story. Probably cant pass as horror, more to crime story. Lots of talking. I felt like watching a veryyyyy long and complicated video gameplay and after 10 long episodes still haven’t crack the code. Quite a good drama if you have the patience. Very frustrating that the mystery is not solve at the end of season1. 😵💫
