Why censor rebirth, What's so wrong doing a DRAMA about rebirth.
There is nothing wrong with rebirth drama but I don't know why Chinese literature loves the idea of rebirth and reincarnation so much. I am ok if it's fantasy (xianxia). I am glad that this is not a rebirth story.

Censorship by Chinese government. Certain topics aren’t allowed; such as rebirth.
I thought so too but this has never been a written rule, it's up to the censorship mood. Blossom is a rebirth drama and no problem airing. I think Royal Princess too (didnt watch this). They did some changes to Story of Kunning Palace to pass the censorship.
