Does anyone know any other work by the director? There’s no info in the cast and crew list
From another his work: “ The director of this drama is 十月时 (his english name is October). He is also the person who directed:
1. Eyes that Bind/Love at First Sight (Wang Gege & He Jianqi)
2. Fengjun (Wang Xiaoyi & Shen Haonan)
3. The Crush (Tan Yanyan & Yang Pengcheng)
4. I wish you knew (Hou Chenge & Zhang Jijun)
5. CEO's Arrange Bride (2025)

Fun fact: October is very young. He is a 1996 liner!

I’ve read your discussion thread about ep1-2 and love it. Maybe it was time when they fall in love. Not only flickering neon heart, but his drawn crooked heart too.

When you watch it again, knowing the whole story, you notice things that you didn't notice before. For example, his desire to make her a princess at the end of the first episode seems to confirm society's perception that he is a malicious person. This leads you to be suspicious of the character until the fifth episode. However, if you disregard this and watch the second episode again, you will see a different perspective. When he remembers her after the humiliation, as the only person who treated him with respect (Takamori-san), helped him to write his name, and did not pity or despise him after learning about his inability to write and read. And when he sees her fiancé alone, he immediately calls her and calls her to the roof to ask a question. And she comes. And he is happy about it, sincerely. And the first question: Are you getting married to this guy? I thought you didn't have anyone (and his tone at that time). So, at the end of the second episode, their time on the roof is a time when they are happy and laughing, and they are open and honest with each other. This is something they have never experienced with anyone else in their lives.

I saw some people below saying they were confused about when Manami and Taiga fell in love but I think it happened…
I rewatched this scene at the end of episode 3 and the beginning of episode 4. When she says "Kaoru isn't a fool," she breaks through his mask and reveals Taiga, who runs after her from the club (Kaoru's job doesn't matter to him) and hugs her. However, when she pushes him away, he regains consciousness and transforms back into Kaoru, who doesn't believe her. He says, "Even if it's not true, thank you." She's in her teacher role at the time, and she's telling him the right things, explaining why he's not a fool. But she would say the same thing to any of her students. She's grabbing his hand, and he's paying attention. As a Kaoru, his instincts are telling him that she wants physical contact. And he agrees, saying, "I don't mind, let's go to a hotel." And when she understands, she's embarrassed at first, and he perceives it as her playing hard to get, but when she sets a clear boundary, "I'm not like that," he's confused. And when she walks away and he sees her back, he can't let her go.

Taiga - the student calls her, promises to do his homework, and smiles when he realizes that she agrees. It's the same when she can't let go of him at the beginning of episode 5.

So I can tell they feel something, but it’s not love yet, and they didn’t trust each other at that time yet.

In my opinion, he fell for her at the end of the first episode, when she agreed to write her name, that is, she did not look at him with disdain and condescension. But he was confused and think it’s his host instinct which is recognised her as potential Princess. Her sincerity toward him little by little cracks his mask of Kaoru. But as I see, the pivot point is her another unexpected reaction about huge sum of money. She wasn’t angry, she was sad and disappointed. And then his step father said about stupid women who wish to pay hosts. And I think it shakes him, he understands she was sincerely kind to him ( he said: I don’t deserve your kindness), and he doesn’t want she was called stupid and was judged because of him. So he finally understood he cares for her, and she sincerely cares too about him. And I like his straightforwardness about their feeling once he recognised it.

Even earlier, when Kawahara tried to kiss her in ep3, a red train passed behind her, and she didn't react to her fiancé's approach. I think this symbolized that she already had feelings. And when Taiga hugged her at the end of Episode 3, she says to herself: I'm the biggest fool here. But I don’t sure about when it is started for Taiga.
