I discovered my love of drama's through "Descendants of the Sun" and from that point on, have become a certified addict. Mr. Sunshine was different in that the show left me wanting to know all the historical details of what actually happened during this time period, who were the real freedom fighters and heroes? This show was a masterpiece of storytelling, acting and production and I'd like to give a very sincere thank you to writer Kim Eun-sook, director Lee Eung-bok and every cast and crew member. Mr. Sunshine delivered an emotional, slow burn episodic journey that will resonate for a long while.
This is so good that I’m already regretting they only made 70 episodes. I usually cringe when I find out a drama…
I agree so much Sunny! I started this drama several times but was interrupted. This weekend, I thought "what the heck" and now I am having episode withdrawals after binging. I'll have to watch Nirvana in Fire if it can match the acting and intensity.
It's crazy how much emotional investment takes place with the five main characters. There seems to be foreshadowing for each one to have an unpleasant ending, so tomorrow's episode promises to be a wild ride.
Still have to watch the last six episodes (got knocked out by a nasty cold). for taking screencaps. Afterwards…
Thank you so much for the suggestions! Unfortunately, I need English subs but a lot of times, I watch the dramas without and then with subs later. The acting, direction and story telling of the Chinese and Korean drama market have me addicted.
I feel the same way. U.S. history books don't teach us this. The World History we were taught was always Euro-centric.…
I went out the Wikipedia to find more details about the Russo-Japanese war and found China to be another victim of the conflict. Teddy Roosevelt helped broker the peace treaty which allowed the Korean Peninsula to be a Japanese maritime gateway and the Korean economy became subordinate for Japanese needs. Again, I have to thank this drama for allowing me glimpses of their history that I was absolutely ignorant in. My admiration definitely extends to the Korean nation for their national determination in the face of frequent invasion and wars.
New drama discovery: it's possible for me to be in love with all three male leads. This drama has me on the edge of my seat, hanging onto every word and action. LOVE.
This show is total perfection! I know the pacing was slow at the first but the attention to detail in each character's back story has lent to nothing but edge-of-the-seat storyline towards the back end. Mr. Sunshine is the truly like a work of art and novel carefully unfolding into a masterpiece.
1. Despite the major differences between the novel and the drama series, the final outcome of the characters are…
