Because itās slice of life and not story-driven, the whole thing is feeling very aimless. I was so bored with the first one I gave up. This one has a much better vibe, though I canāt pinpoint how, as Iāve blocked out the memory of the first one. It is an improvement though. For those who need story I donāt think it will work. Itās just the day to day life of a trio of boys and their handler staying with a friend in Japan. Thereās a bit of gentle jealousy, but so far very little high drama. Itās showing off a prefecture, with a Thai slice of life BL overlay. Iām almost finished and itās very chill. The friend theyāre staying with is gorgeous. His rival is very pretty. The rest are handsome. The scenery is lovely. Itās all incredibly laid back and attractive, but there is zero oomph, unless you like surprisingly over-lit NC scenes. the lighting is flat, glaring and white. Whoever lit the house normally does the lighting in commercial kitchens, I think. Itās dreadful. The subtitles are off too. They talking about playing snowboards, rather than riding or boarding on them. Theyāre more like iQIYI captions, in terms of quality. Iām watching on Gaga, and normally their subtitles are pretty good.
It wasnāt, at all, very good until this last episode, which just gave me some hope it might go somewhere, other…
My take on the rating: Itās fluff, but itās absurdly cute fluff. Itās incredibly wholesome, and the namesake is a walking set of green flags, so itās also escapist perfection. I donāt think itās a nine, but it leaves you in a bit of a pink mist, so you tend to overrate it if you score it still drifting on that state. Itās also nicely shot, and, if you like human spaniels, doesnāt put a foot wrong. Itās neither high art, nor substantial. Itās mind-candy.
i see ur point, but the whole point of this bl, specifically the genre of it is to be a light-hearted and sweet…
How does me expressing my perspective bring it down? If you disagree thatās fine, but my point of view is no less valid that a more approving one, and you donāt get to silence other members for holding different opinions. Thereās nothing to stop you scrolling past dissenting views.
Last episode I dubbed Duang the annoying cocker spaniel. This episode, for the first time in my life I want to hit a dog. As someone who doesnāt like inanity or small-talk I keep hitting pause. Qin canāt do that. He can only walk away or issue threats. Iām 100 % on Qinās side. Duang is a pain. Even if heās a sweetheart, heās a nightmare to be around.
Hmm, the āgay for youā trope seems homophobic to me. It feels like itās suffixed with ābut itās okay, because Iām not gayā. It was the biggest irritant for me in Revenged Love. Iām also thoroughly fed up with the bad communication trope.
I know. I suspect the Heart Killers director worked out how to get the best out of him, where nobody else has.
This is one reason why Iām not a fan of these locked in pairings. If you get one actor thatās just naturally talented, like Joong, itās frustrating when their partner needs serious upskilling. Dunkās gorgeous, but heās just not Joongās equal. Think of all the other skilled actors whoāve been paired with guyās streets behind. It can be learned. Earth in Fourever You season one was abysmal, but he nailed it in season two. Pond wasnāt limited to working with him though, and we got Reset with Peterpan. I wish the pairings were all that flexible.
Iād kind of like to know what Flukeās role is going to be all about. Iāve got a soft spot for him.
