In the beginning, we were led to believe that she thought her uncle had killed her mother, because the dagger that she had given him was found in her mother‘s room, so she made an assumption. But then, at the end we find out that her mother had actually taken her own life out of guilt for betraying Chennges father her husband . Her mother had overheard The emperor talking about having his brother Assassinated since his brother and her used to be in love, she wanted to warn him, but the warning him led to his uprising, and the death of Chengges father. Chengges Mother and uncle used to be in love the Uncle was sent away to war, but was going to come back and marry her Mother the emperor use the opportunity of his brother‘s absence to marry her instead. Her uncle loved her mother and would never have killed her He was going to let her live, but she took her own life out of guilt for betraying her husband the emperor.

From others comments that, I’ve read, from people who’ve seen the Webtoon I’m pretty sure, and this is just my assumption that the assistant is not blood related. Apparently, in the web tune, he was actually helping the female lead because her evil adoptive mother had also hurt or killed his mother or at least somebody that he cared about a lot. Where is in the TV show I think to add drama they make his intentions a lot more ambiguous.

Well, his brother is a victim complex. It’s like dude you were injured through your own fault lol. The reason why your mother doesn’t like you is because you’re manipulative conniving weasel, like I understand, being angry in the moment after what happened, but nobody seems to try to find out the male lead side of things they just automatically believe the older brother. His brother has this sense of entitlement like the world owes him lol.

Don't know if they changed it in the drama comments I've read of people who've read the webtoon he is firmly on the female lead side because apparently the evil adoptive mom killed is Mom or somebody that he was close to or something. The drama makes his motivations more ambiguous though

There is no set date modern dramas usually are more likely to air very quickly after getting their distribution license. Where as historical, Wuxia or Xanxia can take anywhere from months to years which is insane

So only eight episodes were aired. I think they were hoping to get around the censorship by airing it quietly, but then had to stop airing because it started trending and becoming more popular. The eight episodes were up for a really long time but then they took them down because of a legal dispute due to copyright infringement, I had heard that they used someones image without permission. At Least that was the excuse as to why they had to take the episodes down. Personally, I think that was just an excuse to give them a reason to have the episodes pulled but who knows.

I’ve read a lot of comments for people say that is a happy ending, but can someone just confirm that everyone who is evil gets there just desserts? Lol

I also felt this way. But I honestly think that a lot of revenge dramas are like this which is probably why it feel so familiar

Somebody explain something to me cuz I'm kind of confused so I was watching episode 4 I think it's episode 4 where she started putting up boundaries with the male lead. His brother calls and asked her to come over and although I don't agree her not telling the mail lead when she went there and she couldn't find his brother and then she like came out and the male lead said that she had told him not to cross boundaries yet she was the first one to cross the line. And I was like did I miss something because how could she across the boundary that she didn't even know was there because because I don't remember him saying that she shouldn't meet any family of his by herself. So I'm just wondering if he said something and I just missed it.

But that’s because the actor that was involved in the scandal had a relatively minor part that could be easily dealt with. There is one drama that I know of Call the Golden hairpin that was supposed to come out last summer the lead male lead was charged, and convicted of Sexual assault. There were rumours that they We’re looking to recast his part, but really struggled because from what I understand and this just rumours no one wanted to audition for the role But they have just recast his part I think this year With the The lead actor from Princess agents. Yang Zi as apparently agreed to Come back and refill her parts.
