I’m halfway through the show and enjoying it so far due to the storyline, but I can’t with PGY’s acting. Stoic and no personality. That’s the only thing she knows to play.
This drama has some of the best acting I’ve seen in a long time from a c drama. I wish I could give it its 10s but that ending was so booty. Like what was the need to include all of that in the last 5-10 minutes remaining. Just give us a PROPER happy ending.
The plot and writing went off the rails after a certain point but I still enjoyed this. KYJ and Song Kang had great chemistry and gave a good performance, some good laughs throughout, and the emotional moments had me crying. KYJ’s best drama thus far.
This was an incredible drama. Perfect blend of thriller, mystery, romance, drama, etc. The cast had great chemistry and everyone was acting their a$$ off. It deserves all its 10s.
Really enjoyed this drama. Story was very straight forward and the characters were not stupid. No misunderstanding and good communication between the leads. I know he received criticism for his acting but I think Zhang Ling He did such a good job as Xie Wei. He was my favorite character.
My one petty complaint that I have to get off my chest is You Fang Yin’s death. It was so egregious and just felt cheap. Like the writers wanted to kill someone off but didn’t want to risk an important character. But at that point they should have just let her live and give everybody their happy ending. It doesn’t help that not too long after her death we see Jian Shu stabbed multiple times through his chest yet he’s able to lay/stand watching ML and the villain have a whole confrontation for idk how long. Is this man not bleeding out? How tf did he survive but Fang Yin died? It just wasn’t adding up.
This was such a good fluffy/slice of life drama. The leads had great chemistry and were so sweet with each other. The rest of the cast had good chemistry as well and felt like a real friend group. I’m so sad to have finished the show as I loved these characters so much.
This was a very emotionally draining drama. After a certain point I was bawling almost every episode. Like to the point that I had snot dripping down my nose. I have never cried this much while watching a drama. But needless to say, the writing, acting, chemistry, cinematography, OST, etc. was incredible. As soon as I started watching this I couldn’t stop. I was so invested in these characters as if they were my own family/loved ones. This is a drama that deserves its 10s.
IMO, this was bloody awful. The actors were all good. The fight scenes were all fairly good. But there was no…
I still haven’t finished yet (on episode 29) but I agree with your sentiments . I was really into this at first but it’s become a repetitive drag-fest. I don’t even remember why the leads are fighting anymore. I’m trying to push myself to finish because I hate dropping a show when I’m almost done but at this point I think my time is better utilized watching something I actually enjoy. I also feel catfished regarding the leads’ chemistry especially because people hyped it up so much but these two are giving dry;. I feel it mostly has to do with the FL.
Xu Kai is very sexy and magnetic in this role. There were multiple times I swooned seeing him interact with the FL and I think there is chemistry on his end. But Jing Tian and her character are giving nothing to work with. In fact she often looks put off by ML more than anything. Jing Tian is by no means ugly but her visuals aren’t for me either. She constantly looks like she’s sneering.
At first I was disappointed with the ending and the episodes leading up to it. I was so invested in the characters and got tired of crying my eyes out. Like why did every single one of them have to die? But at the same time the reality of war is death and bloodshed. Especially when the stakes are so high.
At the end of the day I thoroughly enjoyed this drama. The writing, the chemistry between cast, the acting, the OST, the fight choreography, etc. Ruyi is hands down one of the baddest b*tch FL I’ve seen and the actress did a phenomenal job portraying her. Everytime her little assassin theme song came on I was giddy with excitement. I’m so sad it’s over.
This drama has become one of my top dramas. The cinematography, the story line, the acting, the chemistry between the cast, the OST, the tension , I mean I can honestly go on and on. Every episode was like a movie and I wish I could go back in time and rewatch it for the first time. I’m gutted that there won’t be a season 2.
Can anyone recommend a drama that’s similar like this one?
The first half of this drama feels like a completely different show compared to the second half. It went from martial arts heroes to political slog fest where the martial arts aspects didn’t really even matter any more or have any bearing on the story. I was hoping the romance would make it up for me but the romance was lacking as well since it wasn’t a big focus of the story. I still cried my eyes out at the end even the last 2 episodes were a mess but overall I was catfished by this show.
This drama really exceeded my expectations. The acting, chemistry, romance, dialogue, cinematography, etc. I was addicted. These characters felt so real and like you were in the same room with them. To top it off the show had some really thought provoking dialogue and a great overall message. I finished this drama not only satisfied at what a good show it was but also feeling introspective and hopeful about my own life.
Oh my, This is sooooooooo boring. so different from eternal love. this is so draggy and it's still draggy with…
It’s beyond boring. I should have dropped it but forced myself to finish it for some reason. Their story line and characterization in eternal love was superior.
This was a cute and easy watch with nothing crazy. Leads were sweet with each other and had good chemistry. I wish they would have stuck to the two main couples or at least not given any of the other side couples so much screen time.
I loved the sweet yet sensual chemistry between the leads. Every time ZYC would whisper into YBY’s ear I would get hot flashes🥵 YBY’s acting was really on point here too. She ate this role up. Overall an easy yet pleasant watch that keeps you engaged and invested the whole time. I wish we could have gotten at least 2 more episodes because I didn’t want it to end.
