I hate it when people say it's show about ghost why are you talking about things being "realistic". Any world (fantasy, sci-fi,..) that is good has rules they follow so it's not just random brain dead stuff that doesn't connect with people.
Many good fantasy worlds have world building, rules and lore around how world works so it's believable and enjoyable otherwise we get this show where they just do random illogical stuff and resolve plot in unsatisfying uncharacteristic frustrating ways where characters feel like caricatures and not real people you could connect to and care about and they seem dumb and out of character. Stuff just happen because it needs to happen and writter doesnt have good way to resolve convoluted plot points they set up.

Doing things like that at work are messy but appeal is usually due to excitement and attraction when that is not present it's just creepy.
