ML 2nd interest or ex is almost always "evil" which is also cliche. Rarely I seen 2nd female in triangle that is not portrayed as bad.

I think most kdramas have strong hook and the fall off regardless if it's Netflix.

I rated alchemy of soul as a whole not by season. In fact based on your rating avg of both seasons as whole would come to 8.16 which is fairy close to my rating. I assume you didn't like direction of story / fl but if your rating was somewhat grounded by some objectivity season 1 to 2 would not drop from 10 to 4.5 if you rate various aspects of production as a whole if narrative was the only reason you had issues with for example or acting of specific character.

It's flawed series but I have bias for fantasy genre and my biases and deal breakers won't effect score more then 1 or 2 points.

For example I hate love triangles in kdramas more then in western media and I find them annoying af or pointless and predictable but there are some great shows despite featuring annoying triangle or worse with everything else being executed great I'll still rate it high.

I am mostly talking about people giving basically everything 10 despite how mid it is due to actor they like or some other reason when I am criticising.

I rated many series I enjoyed a 6 or 7 maybe even 5 due to many bad aspects despite my personal bias. Many people simply go I enjoy it, 10.

Also I personally score based on genre not overall global media. I score it in comparison to other kdrama and subgenre in kdrama like comedy, romcom, so on.. so AoS for example is scored compared to other kdrama fantasy genre I watched at the time and I rarely go back to revisit scores after I watched more.

Opinions are subjective but there has to be some objectivity and grounded reasons to have any value. Like at least some system you base ratings on. Rating everything 10 with no reason has no value..

IMO most people are not critical enough in kdrama and it hurts the genre. Them seeing push back will improve the quality.

Don't even get me started on over rated barely mid cdrama that is on mdl..

Pilots have one of the most unsuccessful relationships due to nature of their work of being away a lot for long times.

I would avoid dating a pilot.

How is this season still not over?

Does this have love triangles or annoying side leads?

This had strong first two episodes and then it's downhill and people probably stick around and cope it would get better but it just got worse.

I just started episode 8 and noticed they trying to do something with sml and I am annoyed af.. why can't writers make a story without this..

It was surprisingly good for first 7 episodes I watched and I thought we wouldn't have this here but here it is again..

What are the good ones in this kind of genre ?

This was not well acted, written or produced. It was corny AF and with ton of plot holes and illogical things if we even ignore bad portrayal of DID. There are also ton of flashbacks, dragged out plot, FL banshee screams and behavior doesn't fit her role, weird creepy adoptive sibling loving sister and being controlling which is never adressed and he is praised, etc..

Like even first big thing in first few minutes with the Jennifer makes absolutely no sense and is just stupid.

I went into this with high expectations and got very disappointed but even if I didn't have high expectations this was underwhelming.

It could be so much better with proper execution, acting and script, it had potential.

Well this was a waste of time, but it had potential at start.. oh well..
