My Sept Recommendation drama
Watch this because recommendation challenge from 𝑳𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕𝒆𝒓. Let’s discuss movie…
Hua Qian (HQ)—the daughter of a prominent incense-manufacturing family—is driven by a ruthless obsession with Zhong Yelan (YL). Unfortunately, YL does not share her feelings, as his heart belongs entirely to Mu Yao (MY). Driven by jealousy and a relentless desire to marry YL, HQ, with the help of her father, schemes relentlessly—framing the innocent Mu family and orchestrating deceitful acts that eventually ruin lives.
Fate, however, is never blind. HQ's relentless pursuit of unrequited love backfires catastrophically, bringing destruction to her entire clan, exile, and ultimately her own violent death.
At the end of her life, consumed by deep regret over her actions, HQ experiences a twist of fate. She suddenly awakens to find herself transported two years into the past, right on the night of her wedding to YL. Realizing she has been granted a rare second chance, HQ abandons her toxic obsession with YL. Instead, she focuses on a single goal: repenting for her past sins, protecting her family from their impending downfall, and quietly stepping aside so YL can be with his true love, MY.
As HQ works tirelessly to repair her past mistakes and curb her family's greed, her transformed personality begins to alter the dynamics around her. She earns the unwavering loyalty of a former beggar-turned-bodyguard, Hua Rongzhou, who devotes his life to protecting her. Simultaneously, Zhong Xiwu, the influential head of the Zhong family, grows intrigued by her sudden change in character, gradually falling deeply in love with her despite the political and social obstacles between them.
However, because the timeline resets after HQ and her father have already set the Mu family's downfall in motion, escaping the fallout of her past sins proves far more difficult than expected.
So, how does HQ's journey ultimately end? Will she successfully escape the fallout completely? Or will she still face consequences, just not as harshly as before? Or will her fate still turn out the same as before?
That's pretty much the story without giving anymore spoilers.
Key factor that make me decided to give the score:
* The plot twist in the end, make the whole drama feel a little bit worthless to be watch
* I don’t know if I like or not about the ambiguity of the ML… Other dramas with similar stories, The ML is so so clear from the start & everything leads toward their story. But this…. give us diff angle
* I like HQ, but everything else feels boring to the core…
Overall, if not for the challenge I think I already dropped it from the 10th first ep…
