I actually enjoyed it too, it gives off Hwarang vibe, idk why it was rated so low when it premiered. If you watch it for fun and comedy it’s really enjoyable

They refilmed the whole first episodes with the new actor, the low ratings comes from the scandal, for me it’s a solid 8.5 drama

Even the setting of the drama I mentioned is in Goryeo/Silla time, which I believe is the same setting time as in akatsuki, the clothes are very similar. The male character in this drama is also, very strong and tries to protect the strong princess.

I recommend you to watch river where the moon rises, the plot is VERY similar to this manga which I adore.

River where the moon rises really reminds me of akatsuki no yona. A strong impressive princess tries to revenge her family.

I do enjoy slow burn development, I’ve watched dozens of Korean historical dramas that started like that. I guess it’s just the fantasy part I find to be confusing, also I’m not used to Chinese names and clan names so it made me feel a bit overwhelmed with all the stuff happening in 2 episodes haha.
But I’ll give it a go, because I like historicals and bl:))

Personally I really like historical dramas because of the political intrigues, fantasy is a genre that is a bit less realistic for me therefore confusing.

Currently at episode 3 so confused about everything, so many clans, names, magic spells. I don’t know if it’s becasue I’m new to Chinese dramas or I’m just dumb lol. Either way it’s not really interesting for me right now, until which episode should I watch to know if it’s for me?

Can anyone tell me what is the plot? I don’t really understand the synopsis written here, like what is this story about besides bromance? Is it about political intrigues or what? The synopsis is very confusing and dull, 50episodes sounds too long for something I don’t know what I watch

Na in woo is actually a giant baby. His personality is very like a baby and co actors like to tease him, his appearance is misleading haha

I know it’s not the same actor, but the vibe Kang Haneul character portrayed really reminds me of the main character I’m Rebel-the thief who stole the people. A servant that acted as a general by helping the commoners and sacrificing a lot. Very great swordsmanship too
