And you jumped the gun. These are old souls. They’re going to be reborn repeatedly. I don’t find a problem with ML saving the FL as a child (as long as he didn’t save her romantically), it’s storytelling for why she is saving him right now.
Behind the times I guess, but creepy? I don’t find it so. If they’re not dying/reincarnated at the same time it is actually realistic writing and not “unnecessary” that there is an age gap at some point.
The speculations are doing more harm than good. I think it is not good to leave the perpetrator names blank, more people can get hurt aside from Zhao Lusi herself.

At no point should anyone be grateful for Depression, it is a terrible disease and can be a faster life taker, There’s really no basis for picking a lesser evil between depression or stroke for the cause of her aphasia. Perhaps you phrased yourself wrongly. A lot of people think depression or its attendant symptoms is something to go in and out of by will. I don’t want to spell it out and be more negative, that’s why I said none of the terrible options of what is happening to Zhao Lusi is light or temporary especially if all of this has been building up for 5 years +
