I like WHD’s acting here, only drama I found him bland in was Only For Love, and that’s because of how his chara was written. Here, I find his character entertaining but the story’s direction and execution is a little mid. None of the humor in the first episode lands, it’s all offbeat. This might turn out to be another FoF for me where the trailer is so good but the actual drama falls short. I have other shows to watch so I will drop this for now.

I get that you are infatuated with your idea of the man and less concerned with what is actually the case, but your “feelings” have nothing to do with the facts. We cannot speculate that she must be abusive because her ex-husband filed for a divorce in a demeaning way: that spoke to his character not hers. Her on the other hand, her self-control, emotional intelligence and the hard choice to maintain privacy and personal dignity in a public situation in which most people cannot resist defending themselves or attacking the other person, showed her grace and quality as a person and won the respect of the public.

Wasn’t he the one with the temper flare out if I recall correctly, if there was any emotional out of controllness it has to be the one who filed for divorce while the spouse was in another country. And it’s weird of you to refer to Song Hye Gyo as “older spouse” lol, a whole top beauty of Asia? Beauty and Popularity wise she has always topped Song Joong Ki and as a star has never lost to people younger than her.
I didn’t like descendants of the son by the way and was never a fan of the couple but SHG strikes me as a cool cat. Liked SJK than Hye Gyo before their brouhaha of a divorce which unfortunately made me question SJK’s character. Regardless I will continue to enjoy his works as an actor if they catch my fancy, and it’s good for them both that they’re living happy and fulfilled separate lives. Everybody wins

Never got the Hyun Bin hype I find his name more attractive than the actor himself ✋ I agree Gong Yoo would have been a yummy choice for this role. Ji Sung from “Secret” and “The Devil Judge” would have brought the perfect dark bite to the role as well, nobody does angst/emotional baggage/chaebol arrogant master like Ji Sung. Still I’m very happy with YYS. And no, those thinking BWS are dead wrong, this drama definitely needs a 35+ vibe male lead, I don’t even know BWS age but he is typecast in my mind as poet/sensitive type, not power or politics. Haven’t even been able to get through the Lovely Runner.

I think he is quite ok as an actor, I’ve seen him in Go Back Lover and as second lead in other dramas. Here, especially in the first 10 episodes I have found the physicality of his portrayal of a powerful army leader a little lacking and amusing. He is attractive enough in the romance part.
