Trust me, start with Sword Snow Stride, then Blood of Youth and then finish off with Joy of Life.
Sword Snow Stride and JoL are similar master pieces but SSS has higher budget and more of an adventure feel so it eases you into the genre.
Blood of Youth has more of a tradional Wuxia feel to it so watch it before starting up JoL. Blood of Youth has incredible friendship and brotherly bonds so even female viewers will enjoy it.
JoL should be watched last for continuity because season 2 is coming out soon.

WXY was almost a no-name compared to ZLH at the time of shooting. WXY's break out role was in just recently aired Scent of time so the director most prob considered his character as a side role at best.
The problem arised because WXY's charisma and screen presence were just too strong to the point of competing with the leads, to the point we forget there are only two actual leads in the story. Think about Yan Lin, who should be ZZ's equal in terms of role hierarchy but the way WXY delivered his role put his character far ahead of Yan Lin.
And regrettably in cdramas and Asian dramas for that matter, screen time is directly proportional to the fan base and the traffic the actor brings in.
