I do want to add it does make me want to watch the anime again.
Yeah, same here. Wish I would have enough time for that like back in the days, because now, I have too much on my plate. ๐ BTW I forgot to mention my favorite thing from the anime. Kurama and how smart he is. They didn't really show that either. There was one scene, but nothing special.
Doona's rating really shows that the Kdrama fandom became a joke. Most of them just hate great storytelling, meaningful stories with real life drama. They only want fantasy romance with pretty boys and girls, but mostly, they don't want to think and pay attention. They want brainless copy and paste shows. I'm glad that shows like Doona are underrated, because it won't attract more clowns. ๐ People who love real life stories and great writing, doesn't care about ratings anyway.
Really suprised by the 7.9 rating i binged the show in a day and thought the visuals and chemistry between the…
I'm not surprised at all, if we look at the typical Kdrama fans. 90% of them can't read, can't write, don't want to think, they just want simple cheesy romance stories without any meaning. They don't like real stuff. They can't even understand the most simple things like the ending.๐
I think for kdrama fans that have watched a lot of kdramas, it seemed very cliche and nothing too extraordinary.…
The fact that people say this show is a typical cliche Kdrama says a lot about them. Especially because they rate the real clishe Kdramas without any real meanings 8 pr higher. This drama is one of the best written and directed in 2023, has a real meaning, and it makes you think about some stuff. So, yeah, I would say, it's extraordinary. Especially because 90% of romance Kdramas are the same with different cast. Most Kdrama fan just lazy and don't want to think, and Doona is the polar opposite. If the viewer doesn't pay attention, they won't understand a lot of things because the writer didn't spell out anything.
You did not just compare Bong soon to Nam soon ๐ญ
"the same recycled plots from SWDBS"
That's exactly what I said. Nam-Soon is the same show basically, with different characters and probably a much better villain. I hate when a villain gets a redemption. It's boring, honestly. I mean, in Hwa Ja's case, it was okay, because she wasn't really a villain. But Shi Oh was evil as hell, and I get it, his past was messed up, but just because his childhood was crap, don't justify his actions.
The chemistry between Bo Young and Hyung Sik is miles better, that's for sure, but I think Nam-Soon and Hee Shik's relationship was more mature a bit. Bong Soon and Min were like two teens acting like 5 year olds. And those over the top lame VFX didn't help either. I'm never going to forget those tiny hearts around Bong Soon, every time she saw the pretty cop guy. ๐คฃ My biggest problem with Bong Soon (the show) was that they used too much time on the stupid school kids and on those thugs. It felt like somehow Bong Soon became their show.
I liked the family dynamic in Nam-Soon more, because in Bong-Soon basically everyone was irritating. But like I said, characters in both shows were like dumb 5 year olds.
Honestly, they should make an Avenger like spinoff with Bong Soon, Nam-Soon, the twins and of course Nam-Soon's mom and grandma.
The OST is so good! Did we ever have an OST with FOUR DISK?๐ Park Eun Bin's new song, 'Fly Away' is something else. I loved 'Someday' and every other song from her, but 'Fly Away' is next level! There's another new song from her too: 'Someday, someway'.
Grown men don't cry, just cutting onions.๐คฃ Also, ULUV's song 'The Witches' is in the OST too, such a great song, just like her other one 'Like today is our last day'. If they don't win the Best OST Award next year, I will riot!๐
You did not just compare Bong soon to Nam soon ๐ญ
Yeah, I get nostalgia is a big factor, I'm no different either. I love both shows, I just think it's unfair to criticize this show for the same reason people loved the other.
I don't think the writers will change their mind about anything, because both show were a success. Also, the plot holes were there in both shows. I'm 99% sure that most people didn't watch these shows for the plot. Both drama is almost like a parody. I don't think we should take shows like these seriously. If I analyze the plot in both shows in a more critical way, I don't think I would give a better rating than 4/10. At least 5 episodes in Bong Soon were filler, and honestly, both show should've been 12 episodes long at max.
Also, criticizing the writing is totally okay, I do that all the time, because I'm a very critical person. But with brainless fun shows like Bong Soon and Nam-Soon I don't feel the need for that. IF, again, IF the overall feeling is good while I'm watching it. I don't know how many Kdrama fans are familiar with TheCW superhero shows, or the Marvel and DC movies too, but these two show are literally the same quality. BRAINLESS FUN with questionable writing.
Lastly: I read some comments and review, and most people were angry because they shipped Nam-Soon with the villain. I can understand if people don't like this show because of the writing, but I despise people who hate the show because they think the villain is a better character because he's prettier.
One more thing: People who loved Bong Soon, they should watch it again. I'm almost 100% sure that their opinion will change about Nam-Soon. I watched both shows back to back, that's why my opinion isn't based on nostalgia.
If you didn't like the main plot (that's not Mokha becoming a Diva btw), I don't think you should waste your time.…
I get it, sometimes I feel this way too. That's why I start watching something else when that happens, and later start over. Castaway Diva is a hopeful show, but most of the time it can be depressing, and not only because of the abusive dad.
I'm watching so many dramas right now and I also started this one! But the thing is I'm not really vibing with…
If you didn't like the main plot (that's not Mokha becoming a Diva btw), I don't think you should waste your time. After 3 episode, it should be clear for everyone what's this show is about. It's not a typical romcom drama with corny lines, sunshine, and rainbows. If you don't like real life stories with real people, don't watch it.
Oh, Jesus Christ! What's up with these new comments? People are like: "Why is this show about fighting for your family and your love. This should be about Mokha becoming a Diva, it's in the title!"๐คฏ๐ก๐ญ
I can't stop laughing. These people are the prime example when someone judges a book by its cover. In this case, the title of the show. I give up.๐คฃ
This show don't deserve the hate at all. I wrote a review why people should ignore the dumb fangirls. In short: Nam-Soon and Bong Soon is literally the same show with different characters.
No one is sympathizing with him. What are you talking about?๐คฃ
Okay, I thought you're talking about Kiho's dad. I'm not saying we should sympathize with him, I hate him too, but I can understand why Mokha said that. She has a point, kind of. He wasn't bad because he was born that way, he was ruined by his addiction, and alcoholism is a disease too. I think Mokha just naive and too kind and always trying to find the best in everyone. Also, it was her dad, you can't hate your parents even if you try. Even Kiho was sad in the finale.
How should I describe Castaway Diva in simple words? It's a show about fighting for your family, your love, your dreams, and never give up! Mokha is probably the most inspiring character I've seen. Park Eun Bin and the whole cast and crew deserve every award! I will write a longer review about the show later, but all I can say, I don't really know if I should give 10/10 or 9/10 for this show. It feels like I'm nitpicking, but honestly, there were a couple of things in the story that could've been a bit better. In my heart, this is a perfect drama, but as a more critical person, it's "only" a 9/10! It would be surprising if Park Eun Bin and the crew won't win anything next year. Amazing show, acting, writing, the entire production, and probably THE Best OST too. I don't even remember when was the last time a Kdrama had a perfect OST, not just the songs, but the score itself too.
That's exactly what I said. Nam-Soon is the same show basically, with different characters and probably a much better villain. I hate when a villain gets a redemption. It's boring, honestly.
