Thank you TvT I miss making reviews like this. It has been quite a while and I have yet to find another movie that makes me feel things as much as this did...
Thank you so much for sharing this! I'm planning to check videos/interviews/materials present beyond the movie…
I'll be checking them now and looking forward to the rest then! Aside from seeing how they perceive the film, I would also like to keep those thoughts, perspectives in mind while rewatching it (^^)
Thank you so much for this. I plan on rewatching it some more [I just finished watching it] because it has plenty…
I wholeheartedly agree. I often watch films/dramas of the same nature [with characters like Otomo and Imagase; human dramas and psychological ones] because life isn't all about fantasies and positivity. By seeing characters like them on screen, we, the viewers, are able to look at them as humans, as flawed beings, and that gives us the opportunity to actually think and to reflect on various topics, thoughts, and perspectives.
I had to read the two volumes of the manga again, to make sure i get a good grasp of what can happen/or could…
Thank you so much for this. I plan on rewatching it some more [I just finished watching it] because it has plenty of layers to it. Then again, this isn't for everyone. If people are looking for a "realistic", "darker", and "complex" film with characters that are flawed and corrupted, then this film may be what they're looking for. Your review made me appreciate this film some more and I'm glad to have read it. Thank you for sharing your thoughts!
Now that some users are able to view the movie, I can maybe start posting some translations of interviews and…
Thank you so much for sharing this! I'm planning to check videos/interviews/materials present beyond the movie to explore not only the story but also the actors' thoughts on said film. I personally enjoyed it, although it overall could've been better in many aspects. Nonetheless, it's one of its kind. Once again, thank you!
Thank you! Hm, let's see. I think it felt... lacking? Since it was just 'shown as it is', we, as the viewers,…
Also, I've actually just found out that this is based on a true incident! That is, perhaps, even more so influential to what I've mentioned in my comment above. I wonder if the purpose of this film is to let the audience be aware that such realities exist and to show them to us as they are.
Great review! Plan to watch it very soon. Could you tell me what you didn't like in the movie without spoiling…
Thank you! Hm, let's see. I think it felt... lacking? Since it was just 'shown as it is', we, as the viewers, don't really get much out of it. Like, we witness their struggles, troubles, and mess, but that's it, you know? While that's the 'point' of it, you cannot deny that there are sides to life that are more than what's been shown to us. Some moments may leave you with questions like, "How did it go?" or "How did they manage to come this far?" or even just "What?". The film shows us their life's bubble but doesn't really go beyond that. Sure, some third party folk are there but imo they don't really influence the pair's life especially their relationship. Also, to put it bluntly, it can be just... crazy and frustrating.
Also, a heads-up if you're not yet aware: subs for all the previous episodes have been fixed/improved! They're so much better now. I would recommend rewatching (or watching!) the series with them to understand some scenes in a better light. Cheers!
What I love about the story dynamic of the two main couples' partners here in WRU is that on one hand, Zon is someone who believes he got sucked into a novel which, in the end, turns into a reality, while on another, Tutor is someone who got too affixed to reality that he more or less never got the chance to dream or, in other words, to believe in the possibility of a novel-like life. They work both sides back-to-back, and I think that's fascinating.
The subtitles for EP6 have to be the best I've seen so far! I really, really appreciate it. I also read that they're fixing the subtitles for the previous episodes, slowly but surely. I think I'd like to rewatch everything and just appreciate the whole show again - from the drama itself to the subtitles.
Very sweet drama. Don't get turned off by the girl's attitude in the beginning. Give the show a chance!…
I definitely agree with this.
She completely pissed me off during the first few episodes (especially because I understand her attitude and her overprotective persona after all those she experienced in her life) but it gets so much better. Every time she smiles whenever she's with Makoto is the greatest thing that has ever happened. Her smile is like a gift for us, and for Makoto, of course.
It took us 2 months to get here, but it's worth it. All those weeks of suffering was worth it XDDDD
I had trouble looking for it as well but in here: https://www.japantimes.co.jp/culture/2020/07/02/films/film-reviews/mother-tatsushi-ohmori/#:~:text=Based%20on%20an%20actual%20incident,part%20%E2%80%9CPsycho%E2%80%9D%20leaves%20out.

They aren't written in full detail, but at least two sources (esp. Japan Times imo) have mentioned it.
