2022 is really the year for good crime/psychological shows. this one and through the darkness are both doing down as two of my favorite thrillers ever.
Actually there are not too much dramas about bullying. And also not many of them are even 8/10
many of the dramas that i've seen include some sort of bullying subplot (e.g. extracurricular, all of us are dead, true beauty, run on, etc), so it's definitely a popular topic amongst kdramas. and i wouldn't generalize because a lot of them are pretty damn good!
the last episode was a total cry fest but other than that i feel like the rest of the drama was pretty mediocre. even in chanyoung's death it was about mijo. would have replaced 50% of her and sunwoo's scenes with joohee and hyeonjun. 7.5/10 for me.
anything with kim sungkyu is an immediate mustwatch (he looks so good in this) but this show went beyond my expectations. love lee dongwook's performance so far and i really feel for his character. i'm rooting for him to get his revenge but also don't want his life to continue going in a downward spiral. i wonder what the deal is with his wife (why she tried to kill him) and those two kids from the past (the one with the baseball and the one with the glasses). and i can't tell if they're going to work together or against each other, but i hope kyungmin meets his childhood friend and the female detective soon.
also, that pig head creeps the hell out of me. i feel like i'm going to turn into a corner and see that mask hidden in a box. ugh
i feel like the creators/production company didn't think this through when making the decision to release only one episode per week. this show is extremely slow-paced and confusing that barely one episode a week isn't enough to give us the answers that we need. i forget most of what happened in the previous episode by the time wednesday rolls around and a new episode comes out.
i like this show, but i genuinely can't see myself being patient enough and tuning into this for 10 weeks straight.
soooo good but i dont understand why theyre trying to make us pity no taenam?
because they're trying to make it seem like he's a victim too. it doesn't justify the bad things that he's done but it's likely he turned that way because of his mom. his mom is the real villain at the end of the day, who neglected her son for greed and power.
also, i think they might've wanted to show a portion of the real abuse/bullying in the military that people go through, even like a chairman. sort of like the message in d.p where 'you might be someone important on the outside but you're no one in the military. '
amazing in every aspect. this show is going onto my list as one of my favorite thrillers of all time. a huge thank you to everyone who worked on this, it was truly an incredible ride.
