Ep 22 was the best of the series! I feel like I got whiplash from all the back and forth, LOL. 9.5/10 for me (it…
And a shoutout to the production team for 2 little things: The use of Latin-American music in the background as the Leads & stand-in boyfriend drove to her parents house (that was REALLY funny). And the most poignant moment in the series to-date: When the ML tells his stepmom "I'm becoming more and more disappointed in you".....that really cut her to the quick. She deserved it, but even I cringed when he said it in such a sincere tone...OUCH

She gets it from her father: Yell first, think later. Victim mentality at it's finest.
I agree and don't get me wrong, I really like BOTH leads and have been pulling for them from Day 1. But fortunately the ML understands her tantrums tend to blow over once she's had a chance to think. Her mother, however is a different story for me. My dislike for her has been growning.

I need to watch that scene again with SeRi & JuAh....it made no sense to me. What was the point?

The drama is good, but it's just too slanted in favour of the Gongs over the Yangs, and I just... don't feel it?…
Excellent point!!!

It is such a rollercoaster, so many ups and downs. And our heroes are not the smartest one. Talisman hidden in…
Yeah, everyone will find out except for the FL Mom....and then when she finds out that it's been hidden from her, she's hurt.....etc etc etc

The rating in MDL is really messy, undeserving and unreliable what's new? recently this drama is 8.0 and now it's…
MDLs ratings are really flaky at the beginning of a series and there are only 117 reviews at this point. There will be a lot of fluctuations early on until there are enough ratings to stabilize things. But I agree - the ratings need to be taken with a HUGE grain of salt.

Title Recipe for Love Spoiler
As great as this series has been, 3 things fell flat for me in Ep 20:

1. Why did they minimize the injury to Bucket? I would have preferred he at least get something serious enough to spend a day or two in the Hospital. At least this would have emphasized the price he'd paid for devotion to Dr. Gong. "Just a scratch" was kind of silly, and something we've seen before in KBS dramas.
2. The "hidden daughter" with her random English sentences. I know, OK not a big deal, but it really throws me off with how my brain works in dealing with hearing Korean while reading subtitles. I'm like "Wait....what did she say?" I mean, what's the point? I get it, she's living in USA and here temporarily. Enough already.
3. The ending was dumb. Suddenly Bucket has Presbyopia? He's had NO trouble reading his phone in the prior 19 episodes, so why do this? This is the complete opposite of the fantastic 'reunion dinner' a couple episodes back where they built up the tension while we waited for someone to spill the beans and yet it didn't happen. Here, in Ep20, we KNEW he was going to blow it the minute he fumbled for his phone. Suddenly they are treating us like kids with telegraphing this scene - writers: respect your viewers intelligence. They could have thought of better ways to handle this, and they have all series long.

Oh, and here's a bonus: The FL "forgives" the ML and takes him back. What exactly did HE do that she's forgiving him for? It was NOT his fault for his parent's stupidity and thoughtlessness. And to make matters worse, she KNOWS that. I want them to be together because their chemistry is what makes the series for me (I still maintain that this show is actually 2 separate series - an office romantic comedy tied to a family drama). But this scene and especially that sentence really rubbed me the wrong way. Oh well, here's hoping that was just a glitch and things will smooth out again - the momentum has really been building all season long otherwise.

This for me was a 9.0, just because of it's entertainment alone. As long as you suspend your belief in logic, it's a wild ride and one of the most gripping dramas I've seen, comedy aside. I was truly not expecting it and for me, this show is a hidden gem.

Are we allowed to discuss specific scenes in the series without the "spoiler" tag? Ep 19 was great, but I thought Ep20 really had some clunkers in it.

Out of curiosity: Has any patient ever been seen at the other (Traditional Korean Medicine) clinic? I don't recall seeing Dr. Yang ever treating anyone....while we seen Dr. Gong constantly with his patients. Very subtle, but interesting point they are trying to make.

The writers continue to impress! The family dinner in Ep18 had me on pins & needles waiting for the inevitable slip-up and epic meltdown, with our leads left hopeless.

Well done, production team!

I know this is kind of a silly, crazy drama, which is why I chose to watch it....and I'm at episode 8 now, and I can't believe HOW GOOD THIS IS. I mean, they really drag you into it. I'm really enjoying it!

I really liked this. I don't really understand the gaming aspect, so I had to just wait for that arc to pass, but otherwise I thought the leads had great chemistry and the supporting cast was on-point too. I wanted to watch a Dilraba drama just because of her exotic beauty, but it turns out the whole cast was just as entertaining. My only "gripes" were that PeiPei was replaced as the FL's Bestie with the other actress towards the end of the series, which I thought was odd and that the first time skip 2 yrs into the future showed almost no growth in the leads relationship.

Yet, I also liked the depiction on how difficult it was for someone in the aerospace field to have a fulfilling marriage given their working requirements (seen with the relationship between his mentor & his wife early in the series and then later reinforced with the strained relationship with Director Hu & his wife at the end. I thought that last part was REALLY well-done). Also, the time-skips (2yrs and then 5 yrs) were well done, especially with whoever did the makeup/styling for YangYang....his appearance changes between high school and his late 30s in the last episodes was very realistic.

This series was well worth the time spent watching, highly recommended!

1. i am little confused i have heard from my friend that these 50 or 100 episode drama are called weekday drama…
KBS's weekday dramas are usually aired right after dinner time, and run about 30 minutes for 100-ish episodes. Weekenders are aired a little later in the evening (but before prime time) and run a little over an hour for about 50 episodes. So, both are about 50 hours total run time, it's just split over how many episodes you get.

I feel like I'm watching 2 different series, somehow grafted together. One is an TERRIFIC office rom-com with our 2 leads chemistry being the best I've seen in a KBS weekender since Oh MinSuk & Shin DongMi in "It's Beautiful Now". Jin SeYeon is amazing, and the looks she gives the ML at times (her eyes, especially) truly make me believe that she really IS falling for him.
The other series is your typical KBS "family drama" weekender with the usual conflicts, etc. Nothing horrible (TRHC) so that's a relief. It will be interesting to see how they continue to tie the lead's story to the rest of the family squabbles.

Ep 9 may have been the best of the series, so far.

i noticed poor people, traditional markets, old ppl, etc are not very popular with the western audience... Bc…
The marketplace theme in Once Again was great, and integral to the drama. Here, it just seems contrived and there to take up time. But, I get it, they can't do a 50 episode drama centered on the leads, especially as an entry in the 'family drama' timeslot. I think I'm bugged by 2 things:
1. the leads are SO GOOD and their story is really interesting. I love watching them interact and their chemistry is terrific. I find myself sighing when they cut away from them to the supporting cast for the other story arcs.
2. I've seen Kim Seung Soo in Historical dramas and most recently in 3 Bold Siblings, and it's weird for me to see him as such a 'light-hearted' (not sure how to describe it) character...so this is just issues I'm having. I'm glad he's getting a chance to expand his acting roles and he seems to be enjoying it.

I'll refrain from commenting further until I get a better handle on where this show is going.

Ep 5 continues with the leads being great and their story (so far) is very clever and fun. But it feels like the energy of the show just gets sucked out when they cut to the rest of the cast (like the election arc). Maybe just me, though.
