In short, Situ Ling was someone who is obsessed over someone over a bit of gratitude, enough to be made his lifelong goal

He originally wanted it for himself. After finding out Ming Yi was poisoned, he wanted to get it for her instead. Realising she doesn't need it nor him, he now wants it for himself become powerful so everyone will submit to him. That's not inconsistent writing if you ask me, but rather evolution of his delusion over time. Plus we know he took a bit of gratitude as affection, and clearly knows she is in love with JBZ

Bu Xiu's emotional outburst is one of the finest things I have seen in this drama...🤣 Also, please go kill that annoying pest

My boy does the work, and Situ Ling and her Shifu gets the credit. Someone ought to have a mirror and show him his face during that convo

I don't remember the exact moment, but there were only two scenes when JBZ's flashbacks kicked one. One was when he was refining the netherbeast for sure

They actually gave his hints earlier. We did see the Yaoguang mountain's mark on him, during his past flashbacks. Plus he clarifies this now as well, saying his mother left a mark on him. Yaoguang mountain is a shitty place, as for someone with no spirit veins, we know the rest

I feel it would be the opposite rather. Her father sacrificed himself to put on a shield over his daughter's head. He knows she loves Yan Xiao as well. Killing them off after all this is would be a 🤬 move
