I think MJ promised not to bother him about it and kept her promise until they met again. I did think it a bit…
Thank you :)

I thought the ending was CH became the funeral director then he will manage Mr. Gu’s funeral and that will be…
I just realised my previous reply might've sounded rude. I just meant I was worried that Gu would die and I'm glad he didn't. I think it would've been too tragic for this drama. I wasn't trying to belittle you're idea (in case it came across that way).

Well a severe case of alcoholism can’t be cured just by giving one of your bottles to a homeless. It’s sad…
I think MJ promised not to bother him about it and kept her promise until they met again. I did think it a bit strange how relaxed she was about it towards the end though. At least in the first three quarters (or more) she seemed concerned even if she didn't talk about it. It was definitely the elephant in the room. When she started asking about it she was so chill (even about him hallucinating) and it didn't come across to me like she was just trying to cover up her concern. As for the homeless man scene, I think that was just meant to imply to us that he was deciding to give it up and inviting us to be optimistic.

I'm trying to understand what some people don't like. I agree it's open but I think it's a fairly soft open ending that clearly implies what happens. I've definitely seen endings where it's much harder to tell. As I'm writing this it's occurred to me that I don't actually like the final scene. Broadly speaking I like the ending but I could've done with a different final scene. Not sure what it should've been though. I liked the last shot of episode 14. That definitely had a more closing feel to it.

When you think about it people should just be grateful the ending wasn't something like that. I know I am. I wouldn't put it past some writers.

I'm sorry but... Wasn't that a happy ending? They were still together and looked like he finally decided to give…
Yes it was. I think maybe people wanted it to be more drawn out. It was very much a last minute heavily implied happy ending rather than a long detailed one. Personally I think it works for this drama and is in more keeping with the tone than any alternative.

I'm satisfied with the ending :) But there's one huge disappointment still... that we didn't get a Chang Hee and…
We got a crumb when Gu asked about him though.

is it sad or happy ending?
Optimistic open ending. I definitely wouldn't call it sad.

I did let out an audible sigh of relief at the ending, I was so nervous!
Me too! I thought it highly likely that Gu was going to die. I think that's why I'm not disappointed.

Why are people confused about Sam Sik? I wasn't until I came here. I know we didn't actually see him fully recovered but it was implied that he was okay. Did I miss something?

Was I not watching properly, or is it other people? The ending made sense to me, but now that I've read the comments I'm questioning what happened. All I was going to say was thank goodness because that seemed like a happy ending to me.

If there's one thing I don't like about this drama it's the OST. I like one or two songs but most of them I kind of hate and I don't think they suit the tone of the drama. The final scene of episode 14 would be perfect if not for that ridiculous song.

It’s because his new name is also Mi-jeong, that’s why Gu didn’t like it.It reminded him of her 🥲
Isn't that just one of the names Gu calls him? I though his new name had Bin in it.

I check this comment section way too often but I'm so obsessed with this drama I don't know where else to go when waiting for the next episodes.

Wow! That is some complicated stuff...I don't reckon it's that difficult to follow the timeline as I remember…
I think he did remarry but wasn't the auntie you mentioned actually his sister? I remember some dialogue on the beach when they talk about not loving her as much as he does since she's his sister.

Given all the talk of names in this drama (the mystery of Gu's name and the conversation about naming goats between MJ and Gu) does anyone think it's relevant that there's a character near Gu who changed his name? Gu doesn't like the name so he calls him by other names. I'm not sure what the relevance would be but it struck me as a weird detail.

Has anyone read the description of episode 13 on Netflix? Isn't it terrible?
It doesn't strike me as terrible. What don't you like about it?

Your theory would mean that Gu took 2 years to contact MJ which does fit better with the dialogue. It also makes sense if the time jump brings us to the present. I don't know if the dad is definitely married. I just assumed.
