Title Ashes of Love Spoiler
I agree. JM deserves all the angst after XF came back to life. The pacing is still good. However, I'm so disappointed…
I'm actually ok that they took out the love scene in the demon realm. Jin Mi is getting tortured way more than I imagined and to have Xu Feng say Sui He's name after sleeping together would pretty much destroy her :(

I’m beginning to not like xu feng much he knows that bird princess is evil and she didn’t save him but he…
I feel you. Especially if we go by just how the drama played out, I don’t feel like Jin Mi is to blame for what she did. At least, not to this extent since she was completely manipulated the whole time. Yes, she did plot to kill Xu Feng but whereas it was more calculative and unwarranted in the novel, in the drama she had sufficient “evidence” and I understand why she felt she had to avenge her parents.
The angst is really dialed up right now with how Xu Feng’s treating her. Did he forget that his mother killed her mother and almost killed her too? It’s understandable that he distrusts her because of what happened and wants to hurt her. There is still a lot he doesn’t know about yet. But to completely disregard Jin Mi telling him (in the previews) that Sui He is able to produce the lotus flame is too much. When Jin Mi confronted him about her parent’s death, it occurred to him at the time that someone is setting them up. He was under the impression that his mother was behind her parent’s death and he didn’t even tell Jin Mi despite assuring her that he would find answers for her. For three years! He even saw Sui He attack Jin Mi with fire, knocking her out that one time. I still can’t believe he let her off so easily then.
I question a lot of Xu Feng’s thought process in the drama. Sure, he still does not know about the Night’s manipulations, the unfeeling pill, and maybe even that Jin Mi saved him but he should at least be able to piece together the clues about Sui He. I hope he gets clued in real soon for poor Jin Mi’s sake. She’s definitely the most pitiful one out of the bunch.

I dont know anymore. He says that when he died SH saved him and that when he had nothing SH was by his side. But…
Hmm I saw it as him throwing the Phoenix feather to attack her but it "betrays" him and protects her instead. Whether he knows Jin Mi saved him or not, it's tough seeing suffer so much..

43 episodes and still no wedding in sight. How much more set up can they give to this story arc? How much more can they beat us over the head with Night and his evil intentions instead of focusing on our OTP? How can they cheat us out of the three years of Xu Feng visiting Jin Mi in Shui Jin while she mourns for her father? I can’t help but see it is as OTP character development screen time that was stolen from viewers to give to Night’s unnecessarily long sob story. I'm sure for most viewers the wedding is now just something to get over with so that we can see Jin Mi and Xu Feng find each other again.
On another note, drama version Xu Feng is so naive and clueless it's ridiculous. Jin Mi was sheltered for 4000 years and has the unfeeling pill as an excuse. What’s yours Xu Feng? In the book he was much more clever and you never doubted his reputation of being a powerful god and winning wars. It was really only Jin Mi's actions at the wedding that he couldn't foresee. Otherwise, he always had the upper hand against Night. At this point the one thing I hope they don’t change is that he knows it was Jin Mi that revived him after she kills him. Using Sui He to make Jin Mi jealous is one thing but I don't think I can take him being with Sui He while she gets all the credit for saving him. And it’d make him look like an idiot, canoodling with the very person that set him up. They better spend a good long time having Xu Feng wallow in regret and despair after Jin Mi’s death.

Before he repairing the pill he said something to Jinmi along the line of "For the rest of your life, I want you…
You're right. A big disadvantage with reading the novel meant that we were never clued in on all the scheming Night did until the end. It's frustrating seeing him selfishly sabotage Xu Feng and Ji Mi's relationship simply because he feels entitled to have her. I never really understood why anyone even considered upholding the original marriage arrangement when it was for the daughter of the Water God and Wind Goddess which Jin Mi is not.

Book readers knew he was going to turn evil but yeah poor JM. Her real self ins now locked up and it will only…
I never really felt like Night was truly evil in the novel. He manipulated the situation to his advantage and selfishly kept Jin Mi in the dark but I always felt like he
cared for her somewhat and was always hopeful that she will eventually accept him. Tampering with the pill just means he doesn't care if she ever loves him. He just didn't want to lose her to Xu Feng. I guess I should be glad the drama added this since they were spending way too much time setting up his excuse for all his future actions.

I can't believe Night. He's finally truly crossed the line. Jin Mi was showing such growth from her mortal trial but Night goes and ruins it by secretly repairing her unfeeling pill. Wtf. What a selfish move. He's pretty much ok with her being ignorant about love rather that let her be with Xu Feng. I guess that answers the question of how she can fall in love with Xu Feng as a human but is then able to kill him later. There's definitely no excuse for making that jerk move, tragic sob story or not. Even Night supporters should have a hard time justifying his actions at this point.

I didn’t read the novel, but base on the synopsis, XF will reincarnate as the Demon Prince, right? After 30…
He doesn't so much as reincarnate but rather the remnants of his soul was revived (by Jin Mi). He stays in the demon realm and ends conquering it. At this rate it's looking like it won't happen until episode 40 or after. Some of the actors have mentioned this in interviews and it seems they may be telling the truth lol. There's still several plot points to hit before the wedding and even after that Jin Mi's unconscious for 2 years then spends 10 years searching for him...

i love their time on Earth so much because when they are back in heaven Jin Mi is Night fiance and it's .... complicated.…
I agree, the last few episodes barely have any OTP scenes. Although the human realm is enjoyable I can't believe this is taking up such a huge chunk of the series. That's time they could be spending on their ling xiu/mutual cultivation scene! I'm sure that's what most of us are waiting for lol. And I can't wait to see how they address the fact that Jin Mi fell in love with Xu Feng when they were mortals. I really hope they don't make them somehow lose their memories -_-

As much as I like the OTP scenes from the mortal lifetime, I'm so ready for them to go back to heaven. I love how the new preview shows Jin Mi avoiding Night when he tries to get close to her. It's nice that the drama shows us the distinction between how she reacts to Xu Feng's moves on her vs Night's. We didn't really get to see this in the novel. Even with the unfeeling pill Jin Mi was already subconsciously choosing Xu Feng! :)

Are you sure dear?? What about with the golden hairpin drama with chao Mark??
Like I said, it's just rumors at this point. Zhang Zhe Han did post on his weibo that he and Yang Zi will be acting together soon although no mention of what it is. It may very well be something else entirely. I'm not sure if the casting of Golden Hairpin is set?? I can't seem to find a definite confirmation of this although it'll be great if it were true. No reason Yang Zi can't do both!

There's rumors she may be in Chinese Paladin 4 with Zhang Zhe Han (legend of yunxi) and it'll be directed by Zhu Rui Bin (legend of chusen and heavy sweetness). I really hope this is true. I've been such a fan since Battle of Changsha and would love for her to get more recognition in high profile roles.

They are dallying it a bit. Jin Mi gotta go to mortal world to suffer first and this is the part not in the novel.…
It makes sense to insert the human lifetime epilogue at this time since if it was at the end it'll be a bit anticlimactic as the big finale (the war, her death) already happened. Adding this now makes it so much more tragic when she kills him later. I'm hoping the intimate scenes are included. It was too prominent in the novel for them to not do so. They'll probably just show them leading into it and then it's implied they did it -_-

they will probably take 2-3 episodes on the human realm which means the wedding will come soon after and then…
I really hope it's more than that. We need as much as we can get of our OTP now. To replay during the coming dark and angsty times lol. Once they separate there'll be way more Sui He scenes than we can stomach. It's bad enough she'll be in the mortal realm too..

The lack of interaction between our OTP in the last few episodes is frustrating. Can't wait for Saturday's episode. It seems we'll be getting our lifetime in the human realm soon!

Man, this show is killing me. I know 2 eps a day is a lot compared to other shows but It's not enough for me.…
Tell me about it. The obsession is real. Saturdays are especially bad since we only get one episode. Why do they do this to us.

It's too easy to look for the negatives since this has been hyped up for so long and we all are expecting it to be epic. I actually like it just fine so far. Since the book wasn't that long to begin with, it's only natural to bulk up the side characters and add a few new side stories to fill up the 60 episodes. While that may become frustrating when it comes to Sui He and the Empress, we're also getting a whole lifetime of the OTP as humans so I see it as a positive. As long as it's a happy ending and they keep the original essence of the main couple's story intact I'll be satisfied. Yang Zi is great as expected and Deng Lun is pulling his own so far. I actually never interpreted Xu Feng as that moody of a character at least not until he starts falling for Jin Mi and even then it was understandable. We'll still have to wait and see. It seems like they are going to explore more of Night's back story to draw more empathy for his actions. I don't mind as it seems like we already have enough all-out villains to hate on.
