OMG IT CAME TRUE 4 YRS LATER 😭😭
Yes it did! I'd like to think I obsessed about this to such a ridiculous extent that I manifested this into reality lol...I remember posting the same on weibo and over the years got many different suggestions for the 3 male roles. But in the end I'm very hopeful with the current casting. And tong hua is involved in the production which is just icing on the cake. What a dream come true!

If u come here to spread negetive things then I am sorry to say u cant be successful.we love Cheng Yi n yangzi…
I'm looking forward to the drama and hopeful it will turn out well just like any other fan lurking on this page. There's nothing negative about a company wanting to promote their actor. Even the most popular of actors can benefit from it. Access to resources is precisely why actors sign with companies to begin with. CY has gained a lot of fans in the past year so it is smart for the company to capitalize on that. Nothing to be offended about. No need to be so quick to defend YZ and CY when I'm not even dissing them.

Title Immortal Samsara: Part 1 Spoiler
I'm not surprised they made Ying Yuan the main lead since his story with Yan Dan is much more interesting from a storytelling perspective. But since huanrui is really trying to promote Cheng Yi with this drama I hope they don't change the story too much and give Ying Yuan too much of a sob story to make his faults excusable. I'd hate for them to make him so pitiful that Yan Dan ends up getting the viewers hate for making him grovel too long.

Her name should stay as Yang Zi in MDL because it's easier to familiarise Yang Zi than Andy Yang
I agree. I actually was able to edit it back to Yang Zi a few times in the past few years but I guess there are also people changing it back.

So glad they are using they're own voices. Must be something YZ pushes for in her dramas now and her male costars go along with it. Such dedication! It's definitely easier (and the norm) to use voice actors especially for big budget historicals/xian xias. Such a relief. I was worried we would be hearing the same two voices that we hear in every other drama. Can't wait for this to air.

The rumoured episode 61 is finally available! Not sure how the whole drama was edited because we only get less than 10 minutes of new footage in the last scene instead of a whole episode added on at the end. But we finally get our happy ending! The editing shows that it seems to have been tacked on as an afterthought (to appease viewers surely) but I am satisfied.

The filming was completed in July. She also just completed filming Mowgli boy. If we're lucky we may have 2 Yang Zi dramas plus a movie in 2019.

I would love Liu Shishi to play Xiao Yao in LYF before bit seeing Yang Zi's performance in AoL, I need her to…
Back when I thought Liu Shi Shi or Yang Mi was perfect for the part, of course the Chinese Paladin fan in me wanted Hu Ge but these actors have most likely outgrown these types of roles. Yang Zi seems perfect as Xiao Yao! I think Jing Boran can play a decent Jing. It’s hard to think of any actor with the acting chops to pull off cold-hearted Xiang Liu/playful Feng Bei and also looks good with white hair. There are too much unrealistic expectations for the role of Xiang Liu. Who do you think would work? I think Yang Yang can pull off the look but his acting leaves much to be desired. Whoever they cast, I just hope the drama doesn’t turn out into a disaster like Song in the Clouds.

I don't like that they changed her name here to her English name which is never used. She is known as YangZi,…
I agree. It's been bugging me as well. I know this is a site for English speakers but Yang Zi what she is know as.

My idea role for Yang Zi is Xiao Yao in Lost You Forever by Tong Hua. It's the only xian xia novel I like more than HSALF and I thought she'd be wonderful in it ever since I heard it was going to be made into a drama years ago. The role is complex and I can't imagine many actresses (who are also age-appropriate) able to pull it off besides Yang Zi. This dream casting was a stretch before but may be even more unlikely to happen now that it's reported Yang Mi's studio bought the rights to the novel and we all know who is most likely to get the role among her group of actresses -__-

It's really disappointing (and irritating) when people continue to say this show is copying TMOPB. Comparisons are bound to happen for dramas and there's nothing wrong with enjoying the show for entertainment purposes but originality and TMOPB should not be used in the same sentence. Info about the whole plagiarism ordeal is readily available with some even translated but some fans choose to selectively ignore any facts that puts TMOPL in a negative light. It's biggest advantage is that it was one of the first in its kind to air and become such a hit. Just think of how massive AoL would have been if it had aired first. Too bad since now every other unreasonable viewer will grab on to the most minor of similarities and claim that this is trying to be TMOPB.

Not just the show but the actors (mostly just Yang Zi) have to bear the burden of being criticized when it comes to the crazy fan wars. Comparing the show and its characters aren't enough because crazy fans feel the need to compare the actresses down to their personalities, looks, level of success, etc. The industry is definitely so much kinder to its male celebrities. Look at Deng Lun riding high off his newfound (and well deserved) popularity but Yang Zi gets kicked around all over social media for "daring" to try to be on the same "level" as YM and Reba. The whole thing is ridiculous. Leave the girl alone. Everyone can grow successful together. Nothing wrong with more talent in the acting pool to motivate stagnant actresses into improving their craft.

Some people dropped this drama early on as it not their cup of tea and I'm sure many of them did not bother to…
Everyone is free to have their own opinion of the drama, that's the whole point in having the rating system. It's unfortunate that people forget that most xian xia will have similar themes and plotlines because they are referencing Chinese mythology. The mortal trial is in the novel as an epilogue but the drama rearranged it to be in the middle of the story instead. However, the whole theme of three lifetimes (or more) and mortal trials is in MANY Chinese fantasy romance novels. TMOPL will forever be held as the standard because it was the first one to be made into a hit drama. That does not mean they were the first ones to do it. Discussing originality for TMOPL is ridiculous considering that everyone knows that the novel was almost entirely plagiarized from a lesser known BL novel. We can all watch the drama and enjoy it for the efforts the actors put in but let's not give the script/source material so much credit when it was essentially stolen.

Oh wow I didn’t think YM & DD fans would do that. I thought YZ was getting the hate from her breakup there’s…
Yea, viewers complain that she's always taking the same time of roles when they don't realize she just takes what she can get. Now hopefully people are reminded how versatile of an actress she is and the roles offered to her are more varied.

I think YZ fans were upset about that rumor because YZ has always been known to be very outgoing and outspoken so QJJ should have known what he was getting himself into lol. Other rumors were saying that it’s because she has too many guy friends and is too friendly with them. Who knows? The only thing I cared about the moment I heard of their break up is that this is the perfect opportunity for DL :)

The fan wars are breaking out because AoL is doing better than anticipated and too many people are comparing it to Eternal Love, Legend of Fuyao, and even Sweet Dreams (because of the common factor that is Deng Lun). Fans of the actresses in those dramas aren’t too happy that viewers and some media are stating Yang Zi’s acting is better, AoL is better, Yang Zi and Deng Lun’s chemistry is better, etc. And we all know the crazy amount of fans that Yang Mi and Dilireba have so this does not bode well for Yang Zi and AoL. It doesn’t help that Dilireba and Yang Zi are in the running for the China TV Golden Eagle Award for Favorite Actress. There seems to be a movement on weibo with people trying to lower the rating of Yang Zi’s past dramas (on Chinese sites like Douban) just to drag her down. It’s ridiculous, petty, and immature. There’s plenty of room in the industry for everyone to do well. Poor Yang Zi, this is her big break and she hasn’t had very long to bask in the glory before the fan wars took over. Our social butterfly has been unusually quiet on social media for the last few days. I hope this dies down soon.

my replay button for the bts is no longer working I especially love the clip where YZ was combatting LYX and accidentally…
Tell me about it. I can't believe the finale was only on Tuesday because it feels like forever since this ended. I'm also rewatching the bts too to get my fix. I love the one during the mortal trial where DL cracks up when YZ forgets her lines and also the one where he makes a bet with her that he'll give her 200 kuai if she doesn't laugh during her takes but he ends up laughing instead. I've been keeping up with their weibo posts during the airing of the drama and enjoying my delusions that they may be into each each other in real life. Now that it's ended what will I do... lol this obsession is not healthy.

Is it just me or the demon princess arc is getting on my nerve. All that episodes for them and they barely contribute…
I couldn’t agree more. It’s simply too easy for him to just wait 5000 years for her. Sure XF was wronged but JM has been through the most and yet she’s spending all this time focused on him. When has this girl had the time to emotionally heal herself? Her whole family was murdered, her mother inadvertently messed up her life with the pill, she finds she has been manipulated by RY all along, and XF breaks her heart over and over again despite the truth staring him in the face.

Also, I’m not crazy about this whole marriage thing regardless if XF knows he marries her or not. A marriage or reconciliation before her death is too rushed at this point. Unfortunately with so few episodes left and what the previews seem to hint at, we may not get any time where he works to earn her forgiveness. So she’s going go from misunderstood, mistreated, and dead to back together with XF the next time she sees him?? In the book it wasn’t such a big deal but in the book he wasn’t such an idiot either. We can only wait and see if the show handles this better…

if they switch the bride without XF knowing then they actually didnt reconcile before the wedding? wonder how…
Yea, I wonder how that scene from the picture gets worked in. He doesn't look to happy there. I hope the plan to switch the brides doesn't end with him blaming her for scheming against him again. I don't want XF to marry SH but now I don't even want him to marry JM. After how he's been treating her?? Marrying JM now isn't great if he goes through with it thinking it's SH... Hopefully the reconciliation happens before the wedding. It would suck if he marries JM but is hot and cold towards her up until her death.

I feel you. Especially if we go by just how the drama played out, I don’t feel like Jin Mi is to blame for what…
Hmm, I’m still not sure if he knows Jin Mi saved him or not. I’d like to think he knows and is in denial but this drama has proven that we shouldn’t expect Xu Feng to be that smart lol. A lot of things happened due to his inability to act when the signs were glaring him in the face. Hopefully everything will be cleared up soon. I’m caught between wanting them to reconcile asap (so he marries her instead of Sui He) vs hoping he misunderstands her until her death because she shouldn’t forgive him too quickly. It’ll make her death all the more traumatic, stay true to the book, and we can see him really grieve for the next 5000 years lol.
