On first watch, my understanding was that HyeSeong originally distanced himself from UJin because he got colorblindness around him for some reason. I’ve read articles of kids who are artistic completely abandoning their dream of pursuing an artistic career because they developed colorblindness. It’s understandable why HyeSeong did that the first time around if he was serious about art. Also, I was under the impression that they weren’t even together in the original timeline but were just really close with unspoken feelings. After that reveal, it sorta doesn’t make sense that he would suddenly break up and study abroad if they’ve already confessed and were dating. To me, it makes more sense that the repression of his feelings in combination with the colorblindness drove HyeSeong away.
Now, when HyeSeong first went back in time, I thought maybe he wanted to keep a distance to avoid hurting UJin emotionally. But then they got close anyway, and HyeSeong started thinking UJin was meant to get hurt if they were close, because the same events were happening but in a different way. Then when it’s revealed that UJin dies in an accident, it makes more sense why HyeSeong broke up the second time around. He wanted to protect UJin from his destined death, which he believed was the result of them being together.
The twist that the accident was because of the break-up and that his sister and friend were keeping it from him is insanely convoluted. But it does provide HyeSeong agency for his second time traveling to make things right.
However, it is a bit strange in the context of his first time traveling. Knowing UJin is dead because of an accident he initially didn’t know he was partially responsible for doesn’t make a clean connection to try to keep a distance between them. If anything, he should’ve been even more motivated to form a connection! Which is why I think the keeping a distance plan failed immediately when he laid eyes on UJin again.
I can’t wait to see where the story goes and hopefully, all will make sense in the end. This is why I usually wait for the entire series to air, but I couldn’t wait with this one. Thankfully, it’s two episodes every week!

Also, I wonder if they’ll explore the color blindness. Kinda seems like they dropped it and the reason for their breakup changed to be UJin’s destined death chasing after HyeSeong. There’s still 4 episodes so maybe they’ll explore that later. Also, I wonder if HyeSeong will return back to the art room to restart the timeline or back to the moment he tore the portrait. Maybe he’ll retry keeping his distance from the beginning or salvage their relationship which seems like the easier route. Either scenario would make for an interesting story but I personally like the tension from “I like you but we can’t be together.”

Oh you might be right! I didn’t even think of that when I was watching but since it’s a fantasy series that could be it. I just thought he was going “color blind”naturally and that made him isolate himself because he’s losing a vital part of himself as an artist. Seeing this makes me hopeful for a Taevin and Joowan return. Sadly I think they wanted to do a Love for Loves Sake season two but were waiting for a script. Personally, I think that story wrapped up nicely and there’s nothing left to tell.
Amazing start! I’m not one for the fantasy BLs but this one hooked me right away. Can’t wait to find out more about the previous timeline and to see where the new one leads to.

Definitely one of the better short dramas to be released. Amazing acting from the leads and the supporting characters were hilarious! My favorite was the observant glasses wingman. The story has some pacing issues but overall was enjoyable and engaging! I especially liked how they didn’t go with the stereotypical dynamics with the height difference between the leads. I hope to see Shimamura in more projects soon! Maybe with more short co stars
Very cute and lighthearted enemies to lovers story. Both leads were charming and the chemistry was good. Even the supporting characters were likeable and interesting. Also, I first watched the original version and now after seeing the re-edited version I understand why people dislike the reel format. I can’t pin it down but the re-edited version gives it a certain something. Although the editing and cuts are awkward in the beginning it became much smoother as the episodes went on. I hope to see other reel series re-edited into a traditional format.
Refreshing! it’s very cute and the acting is really good. I like the premise and overall vibe I also love how you can already tell by the impressive acting that the popular guy has feelings for Asahi. After all the incredible but heavy dramas released this year it’s nice to see so many lighthearted and cute ones.
wow… what an amazing first episode! The cinematography, acting, and even soundtrack was so good. I am hopeful for it and Takuma’s character is getting second couple plot line! I can’t wait!

Exactly! I can’t tell you how many people give bad comments over just the kiss scene or even if they don’t like how one of the actors look. I mainly look for Happy or sad ending now.
A very mature and lovely love story between two men who reunite in adulthood.
The acting was very good and emotionally charged. The two leads did very well portraying these angsty young men. I especially liked the little physical tells that the actors did as it really made these characters feel real. Also, they are both incredibly funny and cute!
The chemistry between the leads is so obviously present although it may be more restrained than some people would like. I do prefer the longing looks, acts of love through real action, and growth of the relationship through communication any day over the fetishized and overtly sexualized depiction of gay men in other dramas.
The overall story was very cute and emotionally driven. I didn’t expect it to go into heavy topics especially with the leads' families but it was a welcome surprise over the typical love rival or misunderstanding. Both leads had their own demons to overcome and I love how they portray that communication is important and not just with your romantic partner but even with family!
I enjoyed the quality of all the characters and how they all had their own character arcs. From the main leads, to the coworkers, and to family members, they all felt like real three-dimensional characters with their own character developments. I especially liked the cafe owner!
Looks like it’ll be another underrated Japanese gem but I’ll encourage everyone to give this drama a watch! Especially if you want a character-driven emotional journey with a fulfilling resolution.

Kim Kang Min did an amazing job as the idol. Truly believable and man he is such a good crier. I felt bad for his character towards the end even though I despised him at first. Great redemption arc even though it felt somewhat rushed.
Kevin also did an amazing job as the teacher and while I dislike the overtly cutesy and infantilizing direction they took with his character he eventually grew on me.
The chemistry between them is great! You can feel the teacher’s nervousness and love for the idol while the idol slowly realizes his true feelings for the teacher. However, I wished they kept some of the heavier themes (not the rapey and creepy Choi Si Yeol) in the adaptation and the nephew character.
Also, the resolution with the second couple was rushed and I felt like key scenes of theirs were cut. I understand they had only so much time to adapt the story but I just can’t help the feeling that the overall show was off in the pacing.
Overall it’s an enjoyable show and definitely worth watching for the fluff. Also, it has a happy ending.
