It’s not explicitly shown in the manga but in a special chapter Ao talks about always “receiving” gifts from Midori. He wants to give back by making Midori dinner. It’s pretty funny. It’s playing off a previous scene where they stated they want to be more like the other. I honestly like how they don’t play into the stereotypes and leave it vague.

Yo just finished reading the manga and I can already tell this adaptation is gonna be a 10/10. Slow burns are my boon.

I hope they kept the top/bottom joke at the end because it’s funny how some people are already obsessed with that and getting it wrong.

Honestly that threesome knocked a few points off for me. Would’ve been healthier and made more sense for character development for them to work together to out smart Baek. Instead they just slept with him and now will carry that stain in their relationship. No date at the park could easily heal that!The threesome was okay but I prefer the scene from episode three over that any day. Would’ve loved to see the team leader top one time to “complete” the relationship between them. Instead we got that Manager giving it to SeonU

yeah it might make sense with proper subtitles but I got the impression the production just wanted a threesome scene. Like the guy is so submissive to the team leader and gets extremely protective over him yet will want to get revenge by willingly sleeping with someone he hates? And bottoming for him too? So strange.

Decent material ifkyk but the story’s pacing left much to be “desired”. At times it shifts so much in tone it gives you whiplash like how we have a typical date scene in the final episode that doesn’t fit with everything else. From my understanding the characters seem to do things for the sake of soft core porn but I’ll have to wait for official international release to verify my critique.

Honestly felt like they tried to fit more than one series together and most of it was pretty good NC scenes and I don’t usually like those if the story isn’t good. I would recommend Flyingpenguin series if you want more porn with some plot.

My opinions may change after official international release since I only saw the Chinese sub. I’ll stick with my initial 7/10 Good

Also, SeonU came off extremely creepy at times. He is cute but man he gave me the heebie-jeebies. it’s probably how they wanted the character to be portrayed if going off from the first episode.

I think it’s a sub genre. I’ve seen plenty from other countries with glorification of non consensual intimacy. A good thing I’ve noticed is that drama adaptations drop the problematic dynamics in favor of more romance and building on the story and characters. “Semantic Error” and “My Bias is Showing” comes to when I think of adaptations that improve on the original.

Yeah but the adaptation seems to be making substantial changes. They’re building up the relationship much better and making Ing less of a creep (his character was overtly creepy in the beginning of the Manhua but I suspect that was used to rationalize the grape scene). Saving Grace is that Ing does get back at the ones who betrayed him and it was very satisfying except for the grapist playing the woe is me card. He even declared that he owns Ing and it was extremely gross to read.

I need to watch the trailer but I have hopes for the adaptation if these first couple episodes are an indication. It is a decent betrayal story and they need to triple down on the romance and zero out the domestic violence.

Bro I read the Manhua and could barely get through it. Not because of the story which was decent but the romanticizing of grape was hard to read. Even got to the point of the grapist blaming the victim. Apparently the novel is even more graphic.

Do yourself a favor and don’t read the novel 🙏🏽

Yeah what got me through most of the Manhua was the Ing character and him being surprisingly resolute after the fallout. Which is surprising considering in similar stories the character would be running back into the grapist arms asap. I haven’t finished it and I’m not planning on it but I hope Ing gave the Yok character a hard time or got with the second lover.

I do like the wolf in sheep’s clothing dynamic and I hope they do a better job or at least not make Yok a delusional grapist. The betrayal plot is pretty good and so far they’re developing the mutual attraction much better in the series.

So good it made me check out the manhua and boy am I regretting that. Apparently the novel is even worse but what can you expect from Chinese—I can’t even call it BL because of the romanticizing grape and the grapist.

Fortunately this adaptation already changed much of story so hopefully it’s more romance and less grape fetish.

Boy was it hard to read those panels rationalizing SA and blaming the victim.

Great first episode! I also liked how we started with the perspective of the one who is crushed on. It’ll be interesting to see how they differ on looking back at their high school years. Wonder if they’ll keep up the switching povs.

Ao is extremely adorable and his pout reminds me so much of Amagi from Takara-kun & Amagi-kun. I love those adorable characters who aren’t infantilized or just dumb.

Not much of a fan of Sex centric content but man this is really good.

That’s an interesting interpretation but I think that line is in reference to the previous scene. Where they talk about finding each other again in the future when they are more stable.
