Felt nostalgic so I started rewatching the first BLs I’ve seen in years. Forgot how good they were especially how cute of a story this one was. Back when character development and non toxic relationships took priority over NC crap.
Glad you mentioned the quality of the acting. I am always a bit hesitant to jump into any series if someone describes…
Oh yeah I know what you mean. Fortunately the main leads acting is pretty good and not only during the intimate scenes. They play really well into their character archetypes. I just hope the story has the same quality.
I don’t know what is worse, amazing acting but terrible story or terrible acting with an amazing story.
Not a fan of “intimate” porno heavy series but man the acting is amazing! The internal conflict and confusion in Zhang Zhun while the passion and growing fondness from Zhen Xin pops off the screen from these two. Could do without the whole girlfriends/cheating plot but it gives more weight to Zhang Zhun’s internal conflict although I have a feeling Zhen Xin is not at all attached to his girlfriend. Can’t wait for more but I do hope it doesn’t fall into the trap of toxic Chinese bl novels that romanticize abuse or SA. Anyone who read the novel care to give me a heads up?
Amazing first episode! I can already tell this is gonna be a journey. Acting is on point and the dialogue is so good and feels natural. That’s a thing I’ve noticed many BLs recently fall short on. Cinematography is excellent and I like the humor feels natural too. These next 11 weeks are gonna be grueling waiting for the next episode.
Anyone else think that one girl figured Saeki out?
Oh! it’s also nice to see Oku Tomoya in a lead role again. I’ve been meaning to watch With You I Bloom and he was amazing in Minato’s Laundromat.
i am a bit lost .. coz i like it .. but i also dont like it .. i mean i dont hate ba wu .. i get him .. plz its…
If I recall correctly there’s a scene after Ba confesses that clarifies Ji Hun perspective. I’m talking about the scene at the basketball court with their other friends. Ba denies the true meaning of his confession so Ji Hun decides not to push and remains his friend. It’s a very subtle scene and clarifies a lot between them. Do Ba U really was his own worst enemy!
Yeah it seems to be losing the plot as it’s going on. Pacing is all over the place in the second half of the…
Second this. At this point I’m only watching for the main couple and see how the illness plays out. Amazing chemistry between them. Also you can 2x or skip scenes that don’t have them. You won’t miss anything that concerns the main couple and the filler storylines aren’t compelling nor paced well.

I’m just trying to be optimistic 😭We do have three episodes left, 9 out of 12. If they don’t add anything else or waste even more time I hope it’ll at least have a decent ending… I do think it’s most likely going to be rushed considering everything so far.
Well… that was an episode. Happy for the Zhang Wang and Xu Yuan scenes but that’s about it. Doc and student are still weird, local gang is weird and felt more like wasted time since they had no lasting impact on the characters, and GL is there I guess? Hopefully we can get back to the main draw of the series with these last few episodes. Please no more unnecessary and pointless filler!
watching ep 9 i am wondering if someone forgot to take their medication or doubled the dose... like what was this…
Yeah it seems to be losing the plot as it’s going on. Pacing is all over the place in the second half of the series which is disappointing because it started off pretty strong and intriguing because of Zhan Wang and Xu Yuan. I knew there was going to be some issues with the plot when the student’s attitude towards the doc did a 180 with no explanation or reasonable development. Honestly could do without those two. Also, Zhan Wang’s symptoms just suddenly disappearing only to reappear as a reminder that oh yeah he’s terminally ill! I wished it focused more on the main couple instead of introducing so many new elements that it’s turning into a mess of disconnected threads. Hopefully these last episodes brings the story back to the main draw of the series, Xu Yuan and Zhan Wang’s relationships, the jinx and the illness.
Could’ve been a 10/10 but lots of questionable decisions bogs it down.
I’m still hesitant on watching this because of the studio and subject matter. Not much of a fan of the whole Thai “actor couple” thing nor their other series and seeing people quoting a line that I find hilariously ignorant is off putting.
“For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life.“ John 3:16
It was quite cute,I skipped the 2nd couple and gl parts(I am not even sure if there are any,I just skip everyone…
Honestly… yeah. Almost perfect for me except for the second couple and the GL. Second couple had potential and I get that the actor was trying for a stoic thing but it just comes off as deadpan. Also the switch up from the student to liking him was way to fast and had no development. Literally came out of nowhere and had me rewatching to see if I missed anything. The GL I’m not interested because of the girl outing the brother but the sister is such a nice character I feel bad for skipping their scenes.
comparatively this love class is much better than the previous twos. I could hold up the courage to watch this…
I liked the previous seasons but yeah this one so far is definitely the better season. I hope they don’t make the same mistake again with too many couples. Season one was too short and already had significant amount of time put into two sub plots for it to waste time on a student/professor relationship afterthought. Same with the second season with the Student/TA plotline. The two couples we have this season are compelling enough and there’s not enough time left for a decent third coupling that won’t feel like an afterthought.
Also, it’s a good romance drama about first love. Don’t go in expecting toxic angst drama and pornographic scenes. This is fortunately a very well done friends to lovers story in a High School setting. It’s a very enjoyable slow build up of the main lead’s friendship to romantic realization that’s unfortunately cut short. Might just be me preferring depictions of healthy relationships which are unfortunately unpopular amongst MDL users.
Oh and if it’s not obvious enough, every scene contributes to the overall message I think the drama is conveying. It’s not until now that I realized the significance of the whole cat subplot. I’m definitely going to do a binge rewatch once all episodes are out.
