Lies again and again

I'll be very blunt and straightforward be prepared.
Everyone is praising how this drama is funny but in my case the fact that the FL is continually lying until the episode 23 is a big no no for me and that didn't let me enjoy the comedic aspect. The lies were understadable in the beginning he was a jerk to her and she needed that job, but after the photoshoot, i was more and more repulsed by her actions. I couldn't find anything funny since most of the funny scenes were based on the absurdity of all the lies.
I HATE LIES in dramas. She made one good use of her filter : to catch a cheater and punish him. Other than that it's used to lie to the ML.
Maybe you'll desagree with me (i'm sure most ppl will find it funny i just couldn't).

That's the first drama that i loved after reading the manhua first. Normally i tend to dislike the little changes and inputs that drama adaptations tend to do.
I primarily began to watch it for Zhao Lusi like everyone i think, but fell in love for the ML instead.
But here the changes are for the best, since in the manhua we spend half of the story watching her when she's 14. All the interactions between them when she's 17 in the drama never occured in the manhua she's 15 when he graduates and she never sees him again for like 5 years, they have a 7-8 year age gap if i remember correctly. When she sees him again she's a sophomore not a freshman, the first time they interact again he doesn't recognize her since last time he saw her she was really young, but when he knows that it's been almost a year and a half she's in the same town and she didn't go to see him he's really hurt. Oh and the drama with his debtor is really more heavy in the manhua, she's really stalking him nonstop and end up in prison for that.
So i really liked that all the heavy drama was changed and the phase of her 14 yo self shortened because that was really long in the manhua. I also liked that they changed her age to 17 when she falls in love with him it gives another feeling than a little girl crush but more of a first love.

Now onto the drama itself. The cast is wonderful, i loved every one of the actors, the actress who plays her mom played her mom in Love like a Galaxy and i hated her in it, but here she's beautiful and such a good mom. Her brother, i loved him in the manhua but here it's another level, he's awesome !
I have to say it ! I fell in love with the ML, like i fell in love with the ML of Lovely Runner two days ago. I was surprised to see that they found an actor who looks exactly like the ML is drawn in the manhua and embodies perfectly the character. I watched a lot of Zhao Lusi's dramas and i thought her couple with Yang Yang in Who rules the world was the best i've seen of her but no i was wrong, she has here sooo muuuch chemistry with the ML (i'm sorry i don't know his name). He's so charismatic when he was on screen i couldn't look away. I paused too many times to calm my heart (it's rare for me to feel that way). I was mindblown by this actor's performance here.

Now that i have finished watching it all i can wish for myself is that kind of lover to find me.

Too dragged on

It would've been perfect if the story ended at 28-30 episodes (even less), but they continued to dragg the story one's illness then the other one's illness, then the jealousy plot. It never ending. I kept on skipping until the end just because i wanted to know if somehow they would've make the story interesting again but to my upmost disappointment the spark was long gone.

For the acting : the ML is perfect i love that actor, but the FL had no romantic feel in her acting. When she's in the medical aspect of the story she's really good but all the fluffy stuff was not it. He's like all hearts in the eyes and all and she's like a wall eyes empty. But whatever, i don't recommend it if you want a fluffy story but if you want a little of action and a little of romance then it's perfect.

I just came to say : it's been a while since drama made me laugh that much.

You know laugh out loud litteraly it was so hard to keep laughing quietly (i watched it during the night). I didn't feel the episodes, i watched it in one go. It made me cry then laugh or cry and laugh at the same time. I loved both MCs, i already know the actress, she's really talented but it's my first drama with the actor as a ML and he's fantastic in this kind of role.

Whatever just watch it.

Is family more important than anything ?

I put this title because I sensed while watching this drama that the writer wanted to try, try is the best word for this, to tell us to forgive our parents whatever they do, for that they put 3 differents family drama focusing on one particularly.

The most important one : Qiao Qingyu and her awful family. All of her family members are awful. From her grand-father to her little brother. I personally hated, HATED, her mom. And listen carefully to me, no... read me carefully, it's not based on the famous thought that "mom should love her kids so if there are some conflicts she's at fault", no no no nothing like that. I hated her because she knew from the beginning that her in-laws were crazy, she understood how much of a coward her husband was when they took her daughter and he said nothing but she stayed. She stayed and added kids until she had a boy to satisty her monstruous in-laws, but when the story begins she's making the whole story about her, her feelings, and what she can bare for that moment : nothing. She's an awful mom, i don't even have an atom of empathy for her, i really hated all her shmilbliks about how her daughters were wronging her or whatever. I'm most probably too harsh but all the scenes when she's on the rooftop looking down at the street i was hoping she jumps so we could be relieved from her presence. The moment my hate for her went through the roof was when she offered money to the guy responsible for her daughter's misery, i was appalled. If you read this after watching it you'll think i'm wrongly directing my anger on her instead of directing it on the dad or his family, but i have to tell you you can't and don't have to engage with crazy people, but if you choose to and let them walk all over you and let them bully someone you care for because of you, you are to blame. We can't change crazy people but we can distance ourselves from them. The mom should've divorced a while ago and took her daughter back but she chose not to for what ? Nothing but tragedy. The scene when the little bro blamed his sister for their parents possible divorce is when i decided that poor Qingyu had no one on her side except her friends Ming Sheng and Mumu. I'm letting all out i hope it's readable at least, but i had to say that the mom is more certainly a victim of a system she put herself in but she's the bully of her daughters, so i can't empathise with her, she deserve every bit of guilt she's feeling. I'm just sad they didn't divorce finally because why have enemies when you have this husband.

The second one : Ming Sheng and his full misunderstanding family. I have to admit i skipped most of his scenes with his mom, but this family was the only one which was redeemable. He hated his dad all his life thinking he was the cause of his mom's departure so we watch him navigate through his feelings of care for his dad while hating him, because his dad never wanted to explain the situation to him, until his mom (who abandoned him) told him what really happened. It's the only acceptable family, both parents love Sheng and it shows.

The last one : Mumu and her Stockholm addicted family. Her alcoholic dad hits her and her mom everynight, but one day it's gone too far and Mumu is sent to hospital and miraculously her dad decided to stop drinking. However, to our shock --', he's diagnosed with last stage of liver cancer. he apologised and Mumu decides that enough for her to forgive him and try to pay for a surgery.

My take on these pov and the ending of all family dramas is the writer wanted so bad to pass a message of "whatever your parents did you have to forgive them and between family members too" we see it between Qingyu and her parents, her dad ans his parents, Ming Sheng and his dad and Mumu and her dad. However the only understandable one is Ming Sheng and his dad cuz his dad never did anything bad to him. You don't know how much frustration i felt watching Qingyu being held responsible for adults' faults, and how much i hate this kind of messages because that's not true we don't have to forgive our parents if they're awful, they chose to be awful no-one is forcing them. That's also why the writer chose that era of china to write his story so they can force the parents of Qingyu to stay together even if they should've split up long before the beginning of the story.

The only tearful moments i had were the teacher and the earthquake and Qiao Beiyu's video. Oh that poor girl ! She's the only one i pitied and empathised with. I was so sad for her. I don't have the words to describe how much i felt her pain and her distress.

BUT ! I can't say the acting wasn't on point ! Qingyu's Mom is an incredible actress same for the dad and Beiyu, the leads were rightly chosen nothing felt wrong in the story acting wise.
Romance wise i think they should've introduced it earlier slowly instead of puting it in the end like when you forgot to put salt in your meal so you add it at the end, but the taste isn't right.

I didn't like the ML and found it difficult to find them cute together cuz imo Gu Xun doesn't deserve her she's way too good for him. Zhou Ye and Lin Yi didn't have any chemistry like 0.
I loved Zhou ye in Love Me, Love My Voice, she was perfect there and the ML was so charming, they had such a great chemitry you'd see herts in their eyes when they looked at eo. But unfortunately here i saw it in with Zhou Ye's acting but not in Lin Yi's. I think (since it's my 2nd drama with him in it) he's better without romance, he's not fit to play romantic leads. Heroic, smart or cunning leads yes but no rom-com for him.

Can you give yourself for love ? I can't, but can you ? Zhu Yun can.

It's a very good drama with very good actors and a good storyline. I really liked the overall feeling the story gave me and more importantly i loved the FL.

But there is one thing i can't understand about her and that's her unconditional love for Li Xun. This guy is such a red flag, he never gives anything first, never puts himself on the line for her. She's just endlessly giving and he's always receiving. The little he gives (dress, food or just a smile) lets her feel extatic and that's sad to see. He's like and iron door on an iceland and she needs to warm the whole island before he dares to look at her. I know some ppl will disagree saying "he has traumas" or "he has business in mind" but when you put yourself in her shoes and the guy you love treats you like this your love will quickly turn into disdain. I would've loved if she was feeling disgusted by him and made him crawl for her but no. Whatever it was really good either way.

My girlies reading this remember : never crawl for a man, as a woman society makes you crawl since birth and when you learn to stand up, you have to stand firm on your feet or less some man will want you on your knees again.

I liked the overall story but it was way too long and had way too much misunderstandings. What i remember mostle is XuanJi calling "SiFeng" 20 times a day, like girl he's in front of you relax.
I loved SiFeng, who loves like this nowadays ? I remember reading a post about what kind of ML Op wanted and she wrote "a pathetic one" and that's SiFeng. If you want a ML that can do no wrong well you have him here.
But i didn't like the 20 episodes where misunderstandings were the only things we saw, XuanJi's dad is really the kind of dad thhat i wish noone will ever have cuz you have awful and you have him worst than everything. Reminded me of MingLan's dad. You'll think "well he's not abusing her" yes he's doing worst giving some fake fatherly love but degrading you everyday hoping secretly that you'll desapear so he'd finally not have to care about your well-being.
Well whatever, the plot is great. I'll say it again with 15 less episodes it would've been one of the best shows i've ever seen.

EDIT : The opening song is amazing. Really fits the story 😍 🧡

I loved it ! I love Wang ChuRan !

I began watching this drama not expecting much of it but it was really good. Like hella good !
Only ppl who don't understand anything about life won't like it, and complain about the FL (who's traumatized and stuck in her head in the beginning). I really loved the FL and how honest and aware she is, when she said "i prefer living my life not regretting about things" she really acted on it the whole drama. I appreciated that everything is realistic, both the leads acted on their principles and were honest with each other. They didn't annoy me one bit (i'm easily annoyed by the leads when i watch a drama) every step they made in their life was understandable.
The chemistry between YangYang and Wang ChuRan did give me butterflies, they were so intense. I watched some Yang Yang dramas and here is the best couple i've seen of him. (I still didn't watch You are my glory because i don't really like DD).

Whatever if you want a dramatic but realistic story then watch this drama.

A huge miss

Everything is here for this drama to be a great one but they decided to portray a "strong woman" as a dumb woman who barely knows how to fight. Since the beginning i found her dumb but i was waiting for a character development since she was still naive. They introduced her like a smart girl but she barely uses her brain.
I was watching and saying "why doesn't she investigate what really happened ?", because we all know sometimes we see some things and guess but it's not really what happened.

I knew i was going to drop it when she attacked her uncle knowing he's stronger than her. I hate dumb main characters than think they're smarter than everyone else.

I know i'm harsh i didn't even watch 10 episodes to jugde this drama to be not that good but since i don't like Leo Wu (i find his acting really stiff), i apparently don't like the FL and since there isn't any chemistry between them i don't see why i would torture to myself to watch someting knowing i'd scream at the FL.
I find the beginning of the plot messy af.

It's a little all over the place but whatever i don't want to waste my time anymore.

Wherever this is going it's going without me !

I dropped it after watching 11 episodes.
I just can't keep watching this when nothing makes sense. Like if she was this smart why attack the king openly ? Why is it normal to go on an edge of a mountain to grab a flower alone ? Why is the acting of all the actors so poor ? Or maybe they act well but it's badly endited ? Whatever nothing makes sense or stands out.
Even if the FL is smart and pretty (my type of main character) i think the story is just badly written, the plot could've been really interesting if written correctly.
FL and ML don't even have that much of chemistry on screen for me to keep watching for the romance only.
