He was great in Basketball. I didn't think it was a bad drama at all. Aside from the little acting hiccup with the lead actress. I hope to see him in more lead roles.
Where did he go? He was terrific in Basketball. I feel like all the actors in that drama dropped off the face of the earth? Why? It wasn't the worst drama at all. It was very interesting.
Kitamura Kazuki is one of the best Japanese actors out there. I don't understand why it's always near impossible to find his dramas with english subtitles. :( This one looks so intriguing and cool too.
Yay, I saved myself 25+ hours of Taiwanese drama nonsense filler by watching the 4 minute trailer from that weibo link below. Happily ever after. Good job. Ming Dao looks gorgeous.
I loved this drama. Masaharu Fukuyama is a terrific actor. He exudes this confident subtle style, and it was great…
Thank you.:) My theory made more sense to me than what the drama went with, only because they kept leaning in that direction with the "father-daughter" theme. It was blatantly shown that Kohei was a playboy, it made perfect sense to me that he'd have a long-lost daughter somewhere. And even more sense that it was with his true love the singer.
I feel strongly that there were last minute plot changes. I did not feel any romantic love between the leads. Yes, she had a crush on him, fell in love with HIM, and who can blame Sakura for that? The man was beautiful, confident, mature, charming, And helped her every step of the way. But I believe Kohei was simply still in love with his dead girlfriend, and projecting that onto Sakura.
I loved this drama. Masaharu Fukuyama is a terrific actor. He exudes this confident subtle style, and it was great to see his musical talents really utilized here. I loved the vibe and jam sessions with Sakura.
Masaki turned out to be a great guy, but there was way too much screaming and overacting. Theres's always one in every Jdrama. Usually the aimless young guy. Running around like a lunatic.
The writers were very very tricky with this story. So many red herrings, I honestly believed, and was waiting for the big reveal that Kohei was Sakura's long-lost father, and the mother was the singer he loved. The fact that Sakura was an orphan, she resembled her a lot, and sang almost exactly like her. And Kohei kept being reminded of her. It makes me wonder if the script somehow got changed and they decided to go with the cancer plot instead. I shipped Kohei and Natsuki really hard. But it was eventually clear it'd never work, her sister's memory would always come between them and she wouldn't be loved and appreciated like she deserved.
The way they used 500 Miles was gorgeous, I loved the orchestral versions.
I LOVE Kitamura Kazuki. Thanks for adding him to the list. You have to see the Samurai Cat series, and he recently made an American-Japanese indie film called Man From Reno.
Ooh, Hidden Identity and My beautiful Bride are going on my lists. I love OCN and TvN dramas. They're more gritty and realistic. Just enough anyway. I don't like them too too dark or violent. But I also love mystery/crime series.
