OMG. I had written this whole explanation of it being the same story and characters but when I reread your comment I realized you just liked this version of the characters and not the adult versions portrayed in ULS. Silly me.
I like the playful more confident version of Donghee. It was good to know he overcame his father's abuse, even if it stayed with him. (ULS)

If you want a quick view of the original Phun/Noh you can watch Reminders (it is only 3 episodes ). It is the two of them in their last year of undergrad. I originally watched it for SaintPerth and ended up watching the entire Love Sick series.

They nailed EP 4. Phun and Earn were right on point.
I like that this series doesn't have the storyline from the girls school. I mostly fast forwarded through it in the original.
