K-Drama no logic, just chemistry and chaos
DO NOT ask me if the plot makes sense because honestly, I stopped trying to understand it at some point. Affinity is one of those dramas where you just have to throw logic out the window and enjoy whatever chaos comes your way. The storyline is all over the place, the world-building barely holds together, and some things happen so randomly that I genuinely wondered what the writers were thinking. BUT THE CHEMISTRY??? Absolutely insane. The tension between Wu Nong Yu and Xie Xin Xu was on another level, and those kiss scenes??? HOW did they get away with some of that?
And the second couple??? I ended up enjoying them WAY more than I ever imagined, which made their ending even more shocking. I genuinely wasn't expecting things to turn out that way, and I'm still trying to process it. I also have to give credit to the cast because they really made the most of their characters despite the questionable writing. The obsession, the romance, the ridiculous twists, everything was so messy yet strangely addictive. I never thought I'd enjoy something this chaotic, but here we are.
Is it a good story? Not particularly.
Did I have fun watching it? Absolutely.
