Title The Early Spring Spoiler
I live in Europe and have loved Asian dramas since 90s.
So I've watched a lot alongside Hollywood & European movies. I love a good angsty romance...I mean come on Wuthering Heights is epitome of angsty...anyway ..
I'm really shocked to see social media posts from western with Asian roots trash this without actually watching and then base it on something it is nothing alike.
So a) it is not 50 shades there is no kink, there is similarities regarding a trope but hey isn't most. But there is no way the level of skin on skin in this then what 50 shows and the context is very different, not even 91/2 weeks level. Only kink is say is Luan love for his wardrobe 🀣 and Flora.
B) Childhood trauma is part of this drama storyline. Forget the novel, it has been changed due to media censorship and views of positive love and marriage.
C) There is coercion & ruthlessness by both but ML blatantly expresses it not as subtle or cunning as FL. The ML is blunt..how he rolls.
D) Generational and cultural differences in hierachy upbringing.

Humans are not robots and everyone has a 🚩 if we really want to strip that person apart. It's what the viewer intellectual decides how they want to view the whole picture. Yes Luan has a 🚩1 flag rating but he also has πŸ’šπŸ’šπŸ’š green hearts with 🫣 verbal diarrhoea when hurt. Flora also has 🚩 and πŸ’šβ„οΈβ„οΈ rating, maybe this is a Harbin thing.

The intimacy coordinator was female and sure can see the difference positively.
The Novel is very different this is because of censorship.

If decide to watch ..the typewriter is important metaphor.... ML is scared of letting himself be loved but there is trauma...so he needs to control the situation.. FL comes across as pretty sheltered looking from a big city outside world pov but inside she is ruthless.

It did feel rushed towards end which was major downfall, so much to explore but what should been 34 episodes, didn't happen, bad decision.

The timeline shifts could been clearer on screen like 'When life gives you Tangerines'.

But rewatch is a must... Actually it is in my rewatchable list and it is a good story to understand those that are flawed are allowed to be loved & that communication, trust is very important from the beginning. Not to hide your feelings for someone because scared of loosing them or what you have around you..

A 🚩🚩🚩 rated is the 2nd Prince in New Life Begins ...

Felt kind of rushed towards the last couple of episodes.
Definitely..I feel E22+23 could of been bit more..felt flat and rushed... And I still wonder if Tao could ski or snowboard seeing as Harbin is Ice City gateway to Winter Sports.... Still loved it...

Second Prince is pure 🚩.

I liked this..it was funny alongside sad. Interesting portrayal of how women were seen and their place via varied dynasty elements that been incorporated.

The Japanese version is more mature. However, it portrayed the subject matter of lines crossed by those in relationships that think when in an a relationship one can automatically deem their actions are ok - The opening episode sculpture of a young woman who didn't consent for public viewing.

To be drawn to ML who was creepy in his actions (unsure was bad acting as so wooden or was directed to be this way) because it was a case of wanting what he couldn't automatically have. Not even a player he had no charming qualities. But most definitely a case of FL attracted to a type and her journey to break it.

Don't understand the issue of advertisement for smoking, who is this suppose to appeal to.? I don't know any GenZ who smoke cigarettes. Netflix has this show as 12yo, subject matter no 12yo has business watching . Really plays into the manosphere and toxicity behaviour is something to be proud of.

ok watching this... and yeah i have same opinions some of the people have with how toxicis... ml is fuckboy and…
The whole point of the older man and ML attracted to her is because she has an aura of not being materialistic and pretentious like the FL you were expecting. She is naturally attractive and aloof with untouched vibes but the opening scenes of E1 tells you very differently due to the context it was being viewed in. When actual context was no consent and she trusted her boyfriend, which was broken and he abused his position. These are college aged young adults not high schoolers.

I really tried to like this drama but Ae Sun is legit emotionally abusive towards Gwan Sik, like she is just an…
The timeline it is set in. alongside cultural dynamics of the generations should show you how those personalities are born. With time they change. Plus she was his whistle.

When people ask me what my favourite mini movie is... I always state this series. It is the most beautiful story of family, culture, historic timeline and love.
When I feel down this is my goto, perseverence of strong females as a pick me up. Even with a box of tissues.

Title Our Generation Spoiler
I found Our Generation a beautiful story of childhood friendships that become their social support.
FL has a quirky way she sees the world... Possibly nuerodivergent with two very loving parents. However, when new city boy moves in to the village he is drawn to her. They are kids and she is positivity in what he sees as a negative childhood. He has one parent that wants him to be a child and deep down knows wrong reasons to push him to becoming a genius.
The journey is the village kids... With ML & FL at the heart of story. I found it compelling the emotional damage done to the ML in what he wants vs his mothers ideology.
Although some have mentioned the FL is stalkerish, didn't pay close attention to their childhood bond and later on when ML tells her why he cut ties. His wall of her in Hong Kong could also be seen as obsessive but she was his light. It's heartbreaking but she never gave up on herself or him. Alongside their friends own journey amongst an angst timeline, it's a beautiful story.
