On Bon Appetit, Your Majesty Sep 7, 2025
Some people complaining about 'there is so much food scenes'... Of course????? Have you seen the name of the kdrama????😭😭 Tbh for me it's perfect, usually time-travel kdramas forget about the main character's life and even the profession they had before time-travelling. In this one the FL being a chef is so important for the plot

im crying why couldn’t they have casted an actual Chinese guy for the role
I think it's because kdramas don't usually do it. It's the same when they make a kdrama based on the japanese Korea, for the japaneses they use korean actors

Korean food was not spicy back then, not even kimchi
Well nowadays that we live in a globally trade world yes, but in the century of that kdrama each country cooked with what they had. Chilies are from South America, they hadn't started to trade with them at the time of that kdrama, at least not in Asia

if they don't knew about chillies then what were they using in that era for spice and it's taste in foods????

Yeah korean food wasn't spicy until 16-18th century, that's why they overreact so much when they eat gochujang…
At the end of the day America is the whole continent, I was talking about America as a continent in general, I'm not that informed to even know the country

I guess it was when american products started to be more global and europeans traded with american products, cause chili is from America. But yeah is crazy to think that kimchi was not spicy then!!

No, the most typical ingredients were soy sauce, sesame oil and fermented food, so no spicy at all
