He has a microbrewery. He visited Xinjiang and interviewed locals. China has taken great efforts to raise up the Uygurs, providing better education, subsidizing business start ups, and also trying to prevent the spread of radical Islam and it's violence. In Xinjiang, Uygurs' language is on signs, currency etc. They get favored positions in schools and housing compared to the Han Chinese.
China and Afghanistan share a border, and the US/CIA found it convenient to spread terrorism from Afghanistan to China via Xinjiang with the Salafist teachings. China sought to counter this by raising Uygurs up out of poverty and raising literacy, so they had choices. Good could have been great. Ning sucked the oxygen out of the air for about 1/3 of the drama. So much time wasted with the 5 year old girl in the 30 year old body.
I love Xu Kai but I'm disappointed in a few things. Who dressed him like that! And that hair is just awful. Xu Kai is a very handsome man but they've got him looking like this? And the dubber - ugh. I prefer the voice that he was dubbed with in The Legends. His acting, his costume, hair, the voice dubbing all were really high quality. I'm upset with whoever is did this to him.
Esther Yu looks decent, maybe she had more control over her costuming etc plus she dubs her own voice (yes I know... it sounds like a kid for part of the drama)
I hear that people are dropping this drama because of the FL's voice. Really sad for any talented actresses, so…
It's Esther Yu's real voice, but I've heard she does make it sound more childish. Saw it in other dramas like Love Between Devil and Fairy where she actually changed to a more mature voice in latter part of drama for reasons. I'm no fan of childish voices but at least she's doing her own . Ugh.
her lipstick is rather heavy.
I bet she's amazing without make-up.
