To be honest, after watching Our Generation, I started this drama but couldn’t get past 4 episodes. I am not even sure why. I recently decided to give it another try for Linghe and Jinmai, and now I am kicking myself for not watching it sooner. I honestly can’t think of a reason why I didn’t like it before. It’s such an amazing drama, and the chemistry between the two leads is incredible.
This drama was just about average overall. At times, the plot suddenly became engaging and pulled me in, but at other moments it felt extremely dull and dragged on. The cast delivered solid performances, everyone is clearly talented and I believe the show earned its 7.9 rating largely because of them (though that still feels a bit generous to me).
Personally, I would rate it a 7, mainly for the actors’ efforts. However, I didn’t feel any real chemistry between the leads. The romantic scenes lacked that “butterfly” factor.
As a one-time watch, it’s fine. But as for a rewatch? Definitely not. about average overall. Just out of curiosity - do actors work during the Chinese new year as I believe it is a 4-week holiday in China ? so is it considered to be a holiday for them as well ?
