Kim Mo Ran has a strong libido...what does that has to do with the plot and the crime solving?! I was good till I read that part and then kinda lost interest lmao
How this dude got so many main roles in high profile drama (such as Netflix ones) remains a mystery for me...…
Okay yeah, he isn't one of the top Korean actors out there, and I will still consider him a rookie skill-wise. He done great in both Sweet Home and Navillera, and the greatest reasons why? Because the plot of both said dramas were great and his roles were written well unlike in the case of Love Alarm, Nevertheless, Forecasting Love and Weather. These three dramas were garbage, with garbage plot, script, characters...etc hence is why even if an experienced actor tried doing them, he will still struggle or seem like his acting was bad due to the already hollow and shit characters.
According to how the characters were supposed to be he actually done well enough (Especially in Nevertheless and Love Alarm), basically all three dramas got similar main male character a playboy, in Nevertheless a selfish cold emotionless one, in Love Alarm a puppy like lovesick one, Forecasting Love and Weather an immature and mischievous one. If his company are the ones who pick acting jobs for him then I just want them to stop giving him these irritating repeatable roles, why not give him an actually decent romantic role where he isn't a toxic, creepy, or annoying character so he can actually improve his acting and have proper chemistry with female leads?! That's why he does much much better in non-romance dramas.
Both Sweet Home and Navillera had very emotional unfortunate main characters and he managed to do them properly which shows he can act and improve indeed., but so far he mostly get all these roles cause he is very good looking and by Korean beauty standards I guess he can be considered perfect, so obviously he will be so popular and fans will rush to watch anything he stars in, I hope he manages to reach a level where most people don't watch his dramas for his looks only, but also amazing acting in future. Besides he does seem passionate about acting and all judging by his effort (Like how he practiced hard to learn some ballet for his Navillera role).
He’s not a bad actor. People just like to complain coz he got popular fast, and the Netflix series gave him…
That's why I hated nevertheless and gave it shit rating, I was waiting her to finally realize that he is not worth, especially since she was also in a toxic relationship before so I wanted some character development, not glorifying toxicity instead, but yes he done great at playing the role, I actually like Song Kang, but in that drama I hated his character so much I wanted to slap him at some point lmao
He’s not a bad actor. People just like to complain coz he got popular fast, and the Netflix series gave him…
I agree that he played that role well, got no issue with his acting personally, but I hate the character and the drama itself which both aren't his fault.
That gurl being all kind and such is for the sake of personal gain, as she says to SY that she don't want Uk to…
Yeah I know she didn't lol, I meant I wished she would just disappear from the plot cause her character makes me irritated for real now and having Naksu be the one to end her would be satisfying to me even though I know it will never happen.
Seriously? Is this not just some fans wishful thinking?
Oh, I'm not hating on South Korea, I do like many aspects of it as well, including culture, history, and even wish I could visit it someday...etc I basically only truly follow Asian celebrities and only watch Asian shows honestly because they got many things that I love about them and they fit my taste better. It's just the scandals and over control over famous people is what's bothering me.
Okay so:1- I can't bring myself to ship the two leads at all. I love Jaehyun, he did great job, especially since…
100% agree! I hated the last episodes of summer strike which is why I gave it a very low rating (That and honestly the drama was overall boring to me). The way they caught the criminals and the whole crap they done in the last two episodes, switching it from a slice of life/romance to thriller/crime was just kinda stupid to me, and the way they handled the whole case was indeed wrong, so basically they left the watchers with a very bad taste knowing the ML now has to deal with the fact he locked his father in prison for murdering his own daughter wrongfully, leading his mother to die...etc which is even way more traumatizing and darker than him blaming himself for his sister's death or whatever his issue was at first.
And then they give us last scenes with him walking around smiling, and having fun normally after figuring all that out...really?! Everyone's problems were just solved easily, and also the issues with the teen couples were kinda dumb to me. They tried so hard to create as much possible drama, even if it doesn't make sense or too dark for this genre.
Like you said the new trend of having only 8-12 episodes Kdrama was a great idea, cause most of older dramas with 16+ episodes used to drag to death and end up in absolute chaos after episode 8.
Shooting stars just dragged for 16 episodes with no actual plot, they gave too much attention to many characters, the leads part was just a mess, and ending was just truly bad. They could wrap up the whole plot in like 4 or 5 episodes only to save everyone's time honestly. Just like the Link: Love, Eat... or whatever that drama's title was with Yoo Jin Goo and Moon Ga Young. It had same issue of shooting stars, although the plot was a bit better and more interesting.
To answer your question in the 4th paragraph about the Jin mother: The Jin mother actually never knew that BuYeon's…
Yeah but she still did many bad things, forcibly using the ice stone to revive her dead baby which now created tons of issues, telling mister Lee to mess with her daughter's body, treating her younger daughter like shit, even being cruel to UK who is the same age as her daughter for stupid reasons honestly, her biggest drive in life is her pride and being stuck up trying so hard to act all controlling over everyone.
Even if her daughter's body doesn't have it's original owner's soul and has Naksu's soul instead, that's not an excuse for her to be that cruel to her body and torture her. Naksu allowed her daughter's body to stay alive and she forgot her memories anyway.
She is just a crazy overly prideful, selfish, and hateful woman.
Agreed with almost all your thoughts, but not the Queen being a victim and the bit about mama Jin knowing her…
Oh, didn't know the queen's part, thanks for explaining it. Also it doesn't make Jin any less awful mother just like you said, she still was cold and cruel to her younger daughter and also lead to all this mess by messing with the ice stone to keep her baby alive thing.
Also if Jin Mu tricked the queen, how come she still allows him to exist and stay by her son's side instead of cutting his neck?! I do remember when they exposed the whole thing in season 1, so it's quite the big plot hole for me that Jin Mu still staying alive and keeping his job till this day lmao I don't know the plot is a bit messy to me in this season, or maybe I don't 100% remember everything in season 1. Or they are keeping him cause he knows about the king's star thing? But it seems like only crown prince knows about it while his parents don't.
That gurl being all kind and such is for the sake of personal gain, as she says to SY that she don't want Uk to…
Yeah she clearly does have feelings, that's is exactly my issue with her, and yes I don't know why they are giving her so much screen time and giving her the right to interfere and make choices for UK to begin with, she isn't his relative nor dear friend, and even if she was a relative or friend, it still doesn't allow her to be this nosy. Even Yul his total bestie, chose to keep his tongue to himself and let Naksu be with UK in the end till she disappear. I seriously wanted Naksu to kill her in that dang graveyard place at some point lmao
Watched 7 episodes so far but seriously that Physician Heo granddaughter character...why did they ruin her so bad?! Like in season 1 she was this humble, kind, sweet, polite, and mostly mature girl, I actually liked her (And did believe it would be nice for her to end up with Yul since both of them are sweet and very polite), but in this season she turned into this super annoying and rude bitch, filled with jealousy, and has nothing better to do than make the FL's life hard and ruin her relationship with UK (And don't get me started about her servant girl who is also utterly rude and annoying, especially for a mere servant).
Like UK made it painfully clear that he has zero feelings for her since season one, spent three years not bothering to look her way even after Naksu died and yet she still tries so bad to shove her love to him down his throat and is being all salty and shitty after all this time when she supposedly accepted his love for Naksu, so why make her become this way instead of just having her move on already?! What the point of adding this stupid, pointless drama to waste screen time on when the plot is already overly packed with many more important stuff that need to be properly addressed and solved.
Also the Jinyowon mother leader (I can't remember her name, Bu Yeon's mother I mean), she became awfully crazy, annoying, creepy, and very obsessed with making both her daughters miserable to death as well that I'm kinda waiting for her to die at this point lmao (The queen too, but in a way I still sympathy with her since she was still a massive victim and suffered for long. Having to live the rest of her life in a deformed sick body that isn't even hers to begin with and that belongs to the woman who ruined her, is indeed traumatizing as hell).
Some might defend the Jin mother by saying she went through a lot after losing her daughter for years, but seriously she finally got her back, and knows that her actual daughter's soul will be back so why try so hard to torture her and even try to forcibly make her marry some asshole to create babies, basically treating her like a damn cow while staying locked in that terrifying room forever?! And when she was still lost the mother treated the younger daughter coldly and basically ignored her existence, making her feel unimportant compared to her older sister instead of being more affectionate to her since she is the only one left of her children. Nothing about this mother is sympathy worthy at all. She just directs her anger and hatred towards the wrong people (Especially her daughters and UK).
This season should've had at least 12 episodes instead honestly, I worry the ending will be a total mess judging by how the plot is going so far.
Seriously? Is this not just some fans wishful thinking?
I mean people be literally getting kicked out of their groups and companies for dating someone, marrying and having kids, or sometimes being a bit mean to someone in elementary school (Not saying bullying isn't bad or anything, yeah they should feel bad for it and apologize when they can, especially if they did go as far as physically harming someone even as kids...but seriously having their whole lives and career ruined over something they done as little shits is too much).
And don't get me started on fake rumors that also lead to many celebrities losing their career, agencies, and even getting sued and then it turns out they were innocent and their career will still suffer even after everyone realize that they aren't guilty. In USA and some other places some celebrities could do drugs, go to jail, be super rude, vulgar, and disrespectful to fans/the public/fellow celebrities, commit many seriously and actually bad stuff and they will still stay famous, continue their careers, and have a shit load of fans.
Not saying that allowing them to do shit and still live their lives normally is good, yeah making celebrities having a bad reputation something that could lead to their ruin, basically forcing them to behave as properly as possible is valid, but I mean in Asia they be overdoing it. It's cool when someone does something truly bad, but considering dating and having family something bad and worthy of punishment and harassment is just tragic.
Finally someone mentioned this. I forgot to bring this scene up in my review, but the way I see it is it was glorifying…
It's cool, English is my second language as well so I don't care if you're not fluent at it, I can still understand what you mean and you don't sound impolite so don't worry about that.
I mean yeah, the face card games are supposed to be harder, though honestly they aren't, they were much more simple than the ones in first season honestly. Most of them where about pure luck or just pure stamina (With some hidden deep messages, but the deep messages got nothing to do with the issue am talking about nor they are the reason the games in season two should be considered harder). Only two games that truly required the use of mind where the ones played by Chishiya (The prison game and the court game), okay maybe the Queen of Hearts game was tough and yeah it would be hard for Arisu to face it on his own hence is why Usagi had to interfere, but all that still doesn't really change the fact that Arisu is still the most non useful character in the whole show.
In first season they introduced his character as supposedly the smartass boy who can survive easily just relying on his brain power and can come up with plans and lead others to victory blah blah like how Karube (His blonde friend) said, but compared to other characters he wasn't really that smart and he is defiantly not that physically strong as well, he is the MC so he should be truly unique at at least one thing (Like for example Kuina, Niragi, Aguni, and Usagi are physically strong as hell. Chishiya is smart as hell), but Arisu is just average at best at everything.
Even when it comes to charisma he is the most bland (Not insulting the actor here, am talking about the character itself), and nothing about him should make anyone view him as a leader or someone to rely on or risk life for. You could remove his character entirely and the plot won't be affected that much and any other character could become the new MC easily.
When the MC who the show should focus on the most is the least interesting and most pointless and useless character in the said show...that's an issue and his plot armor is just baffling, yeah many characters had plot armor in AIB and some were basically immortal at some point, but he had the biggest plot armor, they all get severely injured or even die and he just gets away with barley any scratches, why? Cause he does the least work and effort among them. Also every other character hypes his ass and are willing to die for him and why? Cause he is the MC and that's it lmao
Okay so:1- I can't bring myself to ship the two leads at all. I love Jaehyun, he did great job, especially since…
Oh, I hate Tsunderes as well but both anime and dramas lmao Also yeah it seemed like they hired a kid author to write the plot or something. It was disappointing as hell which is sad because I was hyped about the whole entertainment industry concept they picked...
That's how Asia like, they are more on the conservative side. It's normal for them to not have sex or stuff of…
You're welcome, glad I helped somehow and I get it. It's due to the main leads in this drama both being so shy, polite, and timid, so it's obvious they wouldn't rush to be all touchy and lovey doevy, so it actually made 100% sense to me for them to end the drama with just them holding hands. Especially male lead, he literally was avoiding accidentally touching FL like she is a walking plague lmao and struggled to get comfortable around other people in first episodes, so the part where he hugged her in latest episodes was quite the improvement.
About the teens, both are just kids, so it's also understandable that they will be more on the innocent and pure side, not all kids become all horny after puberty, and I found that much better, at least they still kissed unlike main leads who are adults, and it would be odd to me for them as minors characters to have more sexual scenes than that.
Hope you will get used to this side of Asian dramas, many of them are quite romantic, mature (As in personality and plot wise not fanservice wise), healthy, and adorable so they are totally worth the watch even if they might not be as liberal as some people would prefer.

Thanks a lot for the explaining, now I understand what's going on more.
It's just the scandals and over control over famous people is what's bothering me.
