This ML was just toxic in my opinion.. overbearing, stalker and obsessed! At some point I asked myself if I was…
Exactly my thought. I don't care if he had a change of heart or whatever later, he is just so creepy, rude, and toxic I hated the main leads in the end thanks to him!
How can you not love the fl???? I love this couple soooo damn much and am happy that there is romance in this.…
I don't know about Zombie Detective since I didn't watch it, but I could tell from the second episode of Heavenly Idol that there will be romance between Rembrary and Kim Dal and I'm fine with it. I like her as a character so I rolled with it and so far the romance is decent too.
Feelings, like seeds, need time to grow in somebody's heart and here for the ML romance is prohibited, so how…
I agree! I hate when the characters fall in love too quickly and then be willing to die for each other as if they were in love for 2000 years when they only interacted for like a month or less lmao making the romance as chill and realistic as possible is nice. Also since he was kind of a priest in his original world, obviously he wouldn't be that experienced when it comes to love affairs like a freaking playboy.
FL is likeable which is nice, she is a fan but she isn't crazy like a ssassang or whatever they are called. About the pouting part, many Asian actresses do that shit which irks me a lot not gonna lie, I don't even find it cute when kids do it, let alone adults.
I found it odd as well that in his original world nothing serious seemed to happen after him going to earth, and that on earth the evil one is just messing with him like a toy instead of just killing his ass instantly. But I am mostly focused on the whole idol thing, and how they actually show how fake and tedious some idols personalities are in real life and how shitty the idol world overall can be behind the scenes.
Okay so this was one of the shittiest movies I have ever watched since the day I was born. The fact that this shit is so hyped to the point that I was convinced to watch the live action movie and even considered to watch the anime (Which has 76 episodes or so for fucks sake) and the anime movie, is just...tragic to me lol I mean if others view this crap as good and enjoyable, I guess sure that's their right but to me it was just gross as hell. It totally felt as if the writer was trying their best to win the award of most toxic romance plot in human history by how many fucked up things they added to the story.
1- We got the creepy and crazy parents. I mean they want to get divorce and remarry? That's cool and all, power to them, they don't need to force themselves to be miserable if divorce gonna make them happier. They are friends with the other couple and very chill around them? That's also fine, better than everyone hating each other I suppose. Now the issue is: Them basically forcing the whole "lets live together in the same fucking house and act all lovey dovey and happy go lucky in front of our damn kids" part and the fact that the kids couldn't really do anything about it.
Like no matter how open minded and chill you are, there is no way you will be open minded enough to be okay with daily watching both your parents act all romantic and cheery with other people in front of you...and to make it worse, the other couple tries hard to act all close with the FL/Miki even after she made it clear she wasn't okay with what was happening. I'm not saying they should be cold with her, but not try so hard to shove themselves down her throat, she clearly needed some time to accept the whole thing, but they went overboard with trying to make it all seem normal that it became creepy to death.
If I was in the kids' place at that point I would be like "You do you and all, but let me live alone in a dorm or whatever till I become an adult and then find an apartment or something, I'm not gonna force myself to handle seeing you all be creepy in front of me, so leave me alone and do what makes you happy away from me. Don't shove your desires down my throat please" cause I do believe the parents deserve to be happy, but they also should be mindful of their kids opinions and needs.
Also the fact that (Was it the FL's mother) one of the wives told the FL to not fall for Yuu when they just moved in and I was like really? Is that something you should be saying to your daughter? Like it's both insulting and gross thing to say.
And the fact that the parents are so chaotic, Yuu reached a point were he thought his father wasn't his real father and all that drama...imagine being so irresponsible and odd that your kid thinks he isn't really your kid, that's just depressing.
2- The whole romance between the two leads was utterly gross, first of: Why are Asians obsessed with plots about incest (I know in this movie's case they aren't related, I'm talking overall) and step/adoptive siblings love stories????!!! Like why? Why do they need to be related somehow or have their parents married to each other? Can't the leads just treat each other like normal siblings and move on? So just cause you live with another person of opposite sex (Or same sex in BL's shows case), it means you must want to fuck at some point?! Are they are animals?!
To add insult to the injury, later they suspect they might actually be related by blood, and what do they do? Face their parents saying "Oh, we know we might be related, but you know what? Fuck it, we will still date cause that's love!" like really?! Also when the hell did their "true love" reach that level where it's so strong to the point they don't care about being siblings?
They interacted for like a month? Maybe less and then they are willing to die for each other out of the blue?! That was so forced, it became laughable honestly, and it only reminded me that they are just retarded teens (I know not all teens are retarded, but they are always retarded in these shows for some reason) so of course they will be immature as heck...I'm sorry but I wasn't sold on their romance bullshit. But I guess since their parents are mentally ill, the kids will also have issues obviously.
There was also a scene were Miki supposedly was passed out in the nurse office and then Yuu comes in and decides to kiss her while she pretended to be sleep, that was after the other dude publicly confessed his feelings to her, and well...that also bothered me a lot. Kissing someone, who isn't even your lover when they are unconscious is just...not a good thing to do. Then after she falls for Yuu, there a moment when he is like "I don't like you anymore, so leave me alone" all of a sudden...so to cut it short, I hated both the leads. They both were annoying to me.
3- Now for the third disgusting and problematic subplot romance, the one between Miki's retarded friend and her teacher. Like why did they add that as well? As if the plot wasn't already filled with tons on issues they decided to challenge themselves even more by adding a messed up romance between a minor student and her damn creepy teacher.
I don't care how awful Miki's friend life story/past/family is, that doesn't mean she should go chase after adult creepy men who also happen to be her fucking teacher, and that damn teacher should have his teaching license taken away and should be thrown in jail, like how can you view your minor students like that, she isn't even a college student (Which in that case would be way less disturbing, although personally I also would never date my college teacher, even if they aren't that old, but at least college students are adults so it less illegal), nope a minor!
So everyone in the plot had serious mental issues and we were supposed to view the plot as romantic, cute, and funny somehow...
Now for other things that I disliked about the movie: 1- Camerawork was kinda odd. 2- Movie was way longer than it should be for such a plot. 3- acting was meh at best, especially the FL, her acting was stiff as a mannequin half of the time. 4- The ex girlfriend of Yuu was obsessive and annoying, and her existence didn't serve the plot at all.
So to cut it short, now I won' bother with the anime at all, and decided to give this movie 1/10 (Only because you can't actually give a 0 rating in this website for some reason). I know it's fiction, but it being a fiction doesn't excuse the plot being disturbing and sick. Just like having a fiction plot about a rapist and their victim being all romantic and cute shouldn't be viewed as okay just cause "it's fiction".
I'm cool with the inclusion of forbidden and dark elements in romance, but only if it's done for the purpose of teaching a lesson about how this type of shit shouldn't be okay and should never exist in real life, not romanticize the shit out of it and make it forcibly cute.
I understand your points, but this drama is the first of the Reply series, this wasn't made to "earn profit/milk…
Wait, this was before 1988?! Oh, I understand, but still doesn't mean that the writing issues and shallow characters aren't to be criticized. I have watched many dramas with shit budgets and idol/rookie/not very well knows actors and yet they had 10 times better plots and an amazing characters and acting even though they weren't experienced. I have even watched animes that were animated and made by independent individuals/very small and non-well known companies and yet they were golden shows both when it comes to animation and the story. I just wanna say that if something is really good, then everyone will be able to see that it's good no matter what. Having a decent writing is the least they could do even if the budget/outfits/acting/cast aren't at their best, to convince people to watch more of their stuff and invest in them. They shouldn't just waste the faint amount of money they have in something basically worthless.
God made Ha Jong Woo’s lips and threw away the mold. They’re so magnificently distracting I have no idea what’s…
Am dying by the fact that everyone here either came for Leo or Jong Woo's lips. Personally I came for Leo since I love VIXX, but Jong Woo's lips were another reason for me to not skip scenes lmao
Is it just me or does the voice of Kim Jung Hyun not match his face? Lol
Why? Is it so soft? Since he has a kinda sharp and serious facial features you expected him to have a deeper voice? If that's the case then I do agree. I remember the first time I listened to VIXX songs (Kim Jung Hyun/Leo is a member in that Kpop group) and I was a bit surprised by his very soft and smooth voice since I thought he would be a rapper or something instead of a vocalist lol overall his voice is beautiful so it's not an issue anyways.
https://myasiantv.pe/show/reply-1997 this is my favorite Asian dramas/movies website. To be fair I actually downloaded the episodes then watched them with PotPlayer media player which allows you to speed up the video up to 12x speed and allows you to control the size of it's window (You can make it's window as small as you desire which means that you can watch stuff while doing other things when using PC.
Also since he was kind of a priest in his original world, obviously he wouldn't be that experienced when it comes to love affairs like a freaking playboy.
