The Double is definitely happy ending. The ending matches the story, it's quite fantasy-like. Duke Su came back in a grandiose way.
Here is different, happiness was always short-lived. So it's quite safe to say he died shortly after the new year.🥺

She used him to accomplish her own objectives. Disregarding her safety and his family's safety (though it's later revealed that she had drafted a divorce letter beforehand). As Stellovet said, they could've all been killed if anyone knew she threatened a royal. She's blessed that Consort Miao was her mother's friend. That's why FYX was mad, she would break their promises (she had to act as a wife and protect his family), and get themselves killed. Disregarding everything.

I guess he died shortly after, cause happiness in this drama is usually short-lived. Poor Hanyan, lost everyone she loved. She had her mother for 3 months, and in those 3 months around 2/3 of it they weren't close. She almost lost her best friend's life (now they're just far). Now she's gonna lose her husband. At least he left ZhiZhi for her.
And she, somehow, has ZRY and ZYS, though that's not the same as having her own family that really loves her.
I feel so sorry for her🥺

But story wise it's kinda weak
They focus too much on support characters. The plot is fullllll of loopholes and drama coincidences. Sometimes it seems like they changed the writer for some parts. Filmography os amazing and the acting is also very good. But the story is wasted, had great potential but very poor writing
Since it's a slow burn with deep mistrust, this one should've been 36 or 40 eps. Some things are rushed, while others are taking too much space. But romance isn't "romancying" at all. The plot is like a roller-coaster, sometimes it goes up and than it goes all the way down.

I guess I need to close off my brain sometimes so I don't get bothered by nonsense

I felt quite 'happy' when they showed her body (back when she showed her scars to FYX). Cause I'm quite skinny (genetically, I'm sedentary lol) but, as a westerner, people here aren't thaaaat open to skinny people so sometimes I hear some body shaming. Obviously I'm not as skinny as her, I don't workout nor do I balance my diet (I'm 5'8 and I vary around 120lbs and 124 lbs), but I have a 'petite' appearance. And when I saw people saying she was very skinny in Viki comments I didn't understand them that much, cause I felt quite represented that they were showing something like that? (even though I know how China beauty standards works). Idk how to put it in words, I guess I just wanted to express. I'm feeling quite confident ✨️🍃

This was SO beautiful. The story had many layers and was way too complex to fit in 40 eps. But they still managed to fit the important parts.
I almost cried near the end when they met again, I had to hold myself back. The love stories here were so pleasant to see. I'm in awe. Truly, an amazing drama.
From the cast to the story, to the music to the filming. Everything was amazingly done, I'm so happy
Thankfully I watched it slowly and managed to have my fill🥳

Yep. She didn't receive love and wasn't spoiled. She lost her mother and only had her brother (the emperor) with her. She gave her daughter what she didn't have. She wanted her daughter to never go through everything she went. Unfortunately, that's also wrong🥲

Gotta say, the Grand Princess was a good mother in her own way
She spoiled her daughter and her daughter only did bad things cause her mother did so
She never taught Ming Yue to do bad deeds (the grand princess did that herself). If the grand princess had been a good person, her daughter would mirror her good deeds
But the grand princess clearly cared for her daughter. Too bad she was a bad person
Of all mothers in this drama, the grand princess only lost to the empress❄️
