One of JH’s finest performances in one of SK’s greatest series. Watching again during the COVID quarantine.…
Yes, it's one of those dramas which could've been better with less 4 eps and Yes, Jang Hyuk is really something here. I don't like him, but eveytime I've seen one of his works he hasn't disappointed me..:)
Got recommended this after watching Ming Lan & now finally have the time for a 60 ep drama.Definitely saw big…
I don't much care about physical aspects of love and actually like stories where we see and feel deep love just by longing stares and words but about Dong Yi's characters I completely agree with you. Actually from its airing till now, I've watched it several times and every time her toleration of the villains' schemes annoys me more than before.
Of course if you're familiar with this kind of kdramas it's really a trope. Her doing nothing just finding out their plots and sweeping them under the rug at best is too righteous and at worst too stupid. Specially when instead of punishing them for once and all, they just put them somewhere out of eyes (that is infact even better for scheming and plotting). It's rather like a half save in football
I've seen the other two parts of Park Chang Wook's Revenge trilogy but never this one. For some unknown reasons I seem to have an aversion to it. Is it better than them? Plot of the other two seems more disturbing and darker...
I wish instead of making a 2nd season to whitewash horrible ending of "make our days count"( Is it correct?) with some mushy losing memory plot, they'd decided to continue this after all. It was too short and practically all of it was spent on longing and getting along with emotions. It left much to desire with established relationships.
One thing I don't get at first time seeing and recent rewatch made it more clear is that first and second films are rather at odds woth each other. Here Shen Lian has a good home, good job and doesn't seem as low paid as he's in BotB1. Even if they'd only thought of a prequel after the 1st film, there shouldn't be such differences, IKD!!!
Bai zhai and Shen lian were a very good couple, I liked them far better than 1st film 2 underdeveloped pairings, although it wasn't an obvious love, their expressions while looking at each other, especially the bridge scene, were wonderful. such a pity they didn't end up together and as it's a prequel we know they won't either. I hope when/if they make 3rd film, instead of another failed love story for Shen Lian, we see him kind of miraculously getting back with Bai Zhai! (*,*)
I finally got to watch this drama recently and even though I loved it, I have several problems with it. I've seen…
She still thinks she has to carry the burden of her family's death and doesn't deserve to be ever happy or move on. She still thinks she has to be punished and it's because she has to be under medical and professional care not a dysfunctional family. (I'm no expert but it's very obvious flaw) All in all I prefer Korean remake ending to the Japanese. In that she has a year to make peace with herself and come back to them not like the original where she ends where she started. And aunt's story arc wasn't good too. she was annoying and stupid and her ending up with another man was way better than falling in love with her brother in law.
I finally got to watch this drama recently and even though I loved it, I have several problems with it. I've seen Korean remake far and between and while it's good, contrary to many others I prefer original version. It's more straightforward and Kdramas typical additions like alive villain, evil mistress, old couple back story and etc were weak plots imo and some iconic scenes like Mita telling her tale was better showed in Japanese. The most frustrating matter in the drama was how everyone reacted to Mita's behaviour. She'd been grown in an emotionally (and hinted physically ) abusive enviroment. Before her accident she had been happy depressed type and after it sad one. She's mentally sick and seems no one cares. She's so clinically and emotionally detached that seemingly she even can't feel physical pain (e g. When she gets hit or pick hot box from the fire) She has severe mental problems and other people specially reference lady who's known her nearly all her life don't care about it. Even put her in discharge of youngesters. Funny she told her clients how Mita would do anything even commit murder at their command. Wonder if she did that to all of her clients. The other thing was how at the end all seem to have a rather happy end but she was still the same. She cracked at the end, talked to them and smiled but next scenes she was still cold and detached.
I've clean watched till ep 6 and fast forwarded till ep 28 and can't agree with you more. She's not a likable heroine and her default sad expression doesn't help.
Seems you've deleted your reply to my comment any way. I completely agree with you. Two couples aren't healthy…
Actually I still haven't seen the last 6 eps, but as I have such an aversion to controlling people and being control I think I'm in a serious ride. Si Qi/Qing wu was awful. He's 19 or something, looks like he's 16, behaves like he's 14 and then there's her, IDK her age but her overconfident antics and tiring all the time references to her nonexistence beauty made me roll my eyes more than I care to count....
I am not keen the FL cluelessness, nor the acceptance of the male leads nature to be controlling. It's not dealt…
Seems you've deleted your reply to my comment any way. I completely agree with you. Two couples aren't healthy by no means. In ep 18 he says I want to control all your life and she's like "please, do this". 2nd couple is even worse. Really annoying and disturbing, at least for me. I don't want to sound like a granny here but this kind of portrayal of relationships can be very harmful for youngesters who're main target audience of this type of dramas!

Also, it's good how they film scenes with twin brothers as to avoid showing both in a single shot.....
