I'm not into daily dramas tbh, too much frustrating but I know a lot of them and almost always keep track of what's airing at the time but my most watched heroines were all bark and no bites. So for me, it's a rare treat not to see an idiot softy playing the schemer. If we take the opening scene a forshadowing and not just a normal bluff, it's a quite possible path.

I also dropped The Witches' game, but the mom was promising there. Faking an heir and everything.

Tbh, I won't hold my breath. Another common thing is that in such stories they wouldn't stop at someone being a cheater or greedy, the villains are most likely to be all-in-one, e.g. thieves, murderers, sabotagers, embezzlers, kidnappers, etc.
And there's a fat chance of them being forgiven or not getting appropriate punishment, especially if they die or go insane. 🤔
