What I disliked the most is that how emotionally vulnerable they were regarding to the serial killers' psychopathic tendencies until the end. At first they were't familiar with this so it's quite understandable they're trying to find out the murderers's emotions and expect some feelings like regret but after a decade of active work and thousands of hours review with the inmates, how they still act and feel sick like newbies is unreal.

I didn't want them to become something of a sociopath themselves or forgo their human feelings، also the pressure from dealing with this kind of trash is high but still I didn't like it. It felt too dramatic and OTT.

In middrama, KNG made a case of Hwaseong Serial Murders, I thought it's going to be the recurring case of the series and the last one to solve but it went no where and at the end it remained unsolved.

Profiler check, serial killer check, psychopath check, Kim Nam Gil double check. It has all the ingredients to be a great thriller but ended up being one of the most boring dramas I've even seen, no matter the country.

For one it didn't feel old, I've watched a lot of cop dramas set in 90s, '00s and this was't done nicely imo. Take old phones and cars, it'll be a present time drama.

The other thing is that sometimes it feels more like a docudrama than a drama. The passing years aren't noticable.


I didn't approve of female's appearance too. Her characterization was alright but her unkempt, uncombed and seemingly unwashed hair got on my nerve.

I rewatched some parts of this recently, still hate the ending.

His clothes are the same colour palette so most of the time they look the same but yes now he's wearing new clothes they're far better than before. It seems he did unpack for GJW. 😁😁

I've forgotten the details as I saw this a hundred yrs ago but the story was that KJ's mom and JH's dad loved each other when they were really young and plan to elope but he didn't come and she went alone. KJ and his brother were from different dads and their mom didn't have good luck in men.

I disliked her from the start too, insignificant overlooked ugly duckling (drama narrative🤦🏻‍♀️) friends who have a crush on their popular classmates are always up to something in dramaland. Also I didn't like the way she looked into JW's bag when he wasn't there or how even after his polite but direct refusal she still interfered in his mom's affairs. Now after half the drama is passed she's showing her true dark colours...

The only thing we got, as far as I remember was that KHD who was in charge then practically put the confession in JW's mouth and he just repeat that or in the crime scene told him how to do it while with a real murderer there's no such a need. Also the good uncle A.K.A. HGT told JW he's a murderer and he had a blackout so better to confess everything and use his minority to get a light sentence ASAP. Any day later and he'll get 20 yrs. As NSC su cutely put it it was a total sham investigation and a fakse confession so no question about it.

But I find it wierd that no one at the court noticed something off like the timing. MS's mom had seen him in a certain hour and DS was killed on the phone so they were clear evidences. Probably the same excuse was present there as well.

Did the prosecutor and Judge had a talk with YYS as well or it's normal that they didn't notice the sloppy investigation because of the confession? I always thought no matter the confession, the court always review the evidences throughly. GJW was drunk that night so if it'possible he killed them and forgot, it's double as possible he didn't and the timing shows it.

We don't know how KHD works in normal cases where half of the village and police station aren't interested parties, not that I expect him to be any sharper but petty theft is a world different from a complicated murder case. Remember when NSC first had came he was in awe of him and sang praises for his superior Seoul standard investigation methods but then he saw this through and real investigation targets his own sloppy work he turned against NSC.


This village is small and all of these s**ms know each other quite well, I'm not surprised if they can decieve each other with such nonesense, but about BY, her father is an abusive alchoholic, he may feel some remorse or sadness deep in his rotten heart and mind but at the end he just thinks about paying for his next drink. The house and car they have is most probably bought with the compensation money he smooched off from JW's parents, he even wanted to postpone the funeral to take more money from him, now with the rape story he has excuse to take money from MS and BM's dads as well. KHD knows this as well as everyone else, they know even if he understands this menage a trois is an absolute lie, he still only cares for the money.

I think he had already lost his faith in his *friends*🤢 when he came out. None of them did anything to help him and no one ever visited him except miss Creepy, they didn't exactly gave him a warm welcome too. The shadow of you're a murderer and we can't be seen with you was always there even when they tried to be forgiving.🤮


Also a deacde at the prison has hardened him more than everyone else can understand, as you've said he has grown good instincts. Maybe it's some sort of emotional numbness or clinical detachment that makes him calm and collected at the face of such betrayals.

Oh... They probably changed the schedule cause of Special shows. I don't think they'd air it on a random date.

Come to think of it, he only harrassed him when he thought JW a cold blooded murderer making fool of people, he was well-mannered before and after that. They're chummy now so no honourfics.😂😂 Next we have JW calling him Hyung..!


KHD is the typical small town detective, the sort most famously (imo) portrayed in the Memories of the Murder. Incompetent, stupid, violent cops who don't have the basic knowledge of dealing with a serious crime and only know to beat a person physically and mentally into confessing just to close the case. The fact that he works with corrupt people and is possibly corrupt himself doesn't help his case. Like how he manipulates the truth or sabotages the evidences.😬

NSC has prejudice against criminals, at first he thought JW to be a shameless murderer but then he found out investigation was a comolete fraud he went to his side. And now we root for him.💪🏻💪🏻

There are so many evil people here that we have all sorts of them. Incompetent idiot evil (SC Kim), Fidgety pathetic evil (YM's dad), stupid brainless evil (MS), creepy obessive evil (NG). You name others.... Honestly these people are scary😫

Exactly. The first time he wore the clothes and they were quite the fit, I was thinking the same, expecting at least some draggy sleeves or soemthing, but didn't thought much of it later tbh.
