I dropped it after 2 eps but I remember he was secretly dating FL but also SFL was in love with him and had already tried killing herself over his rejection hence he'd accepted to marry her. 🤦🏻♀️😮💨He's good actor and his face and voice merge good with being a villain but he must stop playing jerks. He has very small movie roles but they're rather better.

There is logic (a cruel calculative kind ) behind his actions. The king wants his power omnipotent, he wants to rule without disobediance and free of eveyone thinking they have a share of the throne just because they helped him sit on it and drown themselves in corruption. He ended up killing/exiling many of his initial supporter like Jeon Do Yeon to secure his rule.
He'd also seen and feared too much power at the hands of a queen. Add to the mix him being the 3rd king of a newly stablished yet unstable dynasty. He could've been overthrowned rather easily. His wife's family were powerful and they kept gaining even more after his enthronement, it eventually led him to kill her 4 brothers and father IIRC. He did the same to his son's in-laws later.
The drama is from the Queen POV and focuses on her and other wives, it has taken its liberties with the historical facts, so we can't be sure how much of her rule in the all that mess are true....
So they had a truce for a few years, I wonder what will happen to lead to the infamous in-law cleansing. For now it seems like the calm before the storm....
So many favourite here but I didn't really understand what happened midway forward, sadly it was so boring I didn't want to watch again to understand what was the deal...😅🥴

1. Saying she was the only one who'd ever given him comfort was "I love her",
2. I don't want to lose her meant "I can't lose her!"
3. And please save her was as much as he could bring himself to beg.
What more did she expect? Him kneeling down and crying for mercy? Isn't she supposed to be smart enough to know better than provoking him? Especially since her family were already involved...
How do you like it? Is it good? I like to give a try but I can't watch now and after it's finished I feel lazy to bingewatch 40 all these long episodes. 😩😅😅
I don't mind death but there are a lot of pointless deaths here, like they are there just to be angsty or torture the leads.
Unlike the MC, relationship between YTC and ZJB was underdeveloped. Even though it was like typical costume dramas with an avenging person falling in love with his\her arc enemy it had potential but it was undercooked and some good parts were deleted.
