I agree lol, he would’ve been the first Chinese actor to have 3 bromance roles if it wasn’t the pandemic last…
Exactly lol, the original cast for Wen KeXing is Li DaiKun which is now the Scorpion King. If Mao ZiJun and Li DaiKun played their respective roles and the pandemic never happened, I totally see how Zhou ZiShu would be top. 🤣

I know right!?? I was blown away too when I learned about this fact. Yeah I can’t imagine Mao ZiJun taking the role of Zhou ZiShu as well because his acting style is so different from Zhang ZheHan. But imagine tho…
can I say Mao Zi Jun really like take a role in drama bromance
I agree lol, he would’ve been the first Chinese actor to have 3 bromance roles if it wasn’t the pandemic last year. He was the original cast for Zhou ZiShu in Word of Honor which is almost unbelievable.
Episode 35 isn’t the most heart racing ending but it’s honestly beautiful, I was skeptical because after the episode where they “defeated” the 2 villains I was worried that the story might go down hill from there, and ngl it did a bit. I just love the portrayal of feminism in this, I especially love how Shen CuiXi brought women to justice despite of the confucius rules. I rarely ever see feminism being portrayed into something that don’t make me dislike, it’s executed nicely and not some in your face annoying crap. No superpowers. No Mary Sue. Just women with pure soul, hard work and determination. Shen CuiXi and Zeng BaoQin are indeed Marvellous Women. Okay *breathes* I LOVE the dream like sequence ending where Wei LiangGong suddenly appears in front of Shen CuiXi and they did a little dance together. I literally cried like an insane person lol because I felt so happy.
Same!! This is the first time I’ve heard his real voice in a drama, I feel like he has a slightly softer voice…
I just searched the drama and there’s like 90 episodes and I’m like how the hell am I gonna finish this lol, it’s insane but I’ll give it a try someday. Thanks for the suggestion Manman :D

Ahh then there’s still hope 🥺 but I hope the final product won’t end up being cut to the brim now that the Chinese government are more aware of these dramas.

True and yeah I know The Story of the Bat, in fact I’ve been waiting for that drama to come out for half a year now. Looks like it won’t be airing anytime soon. 🥲
I was going to watch this drama just for Mao Zi Jun but unfortunately his role is so short ,, he uses his real…
Same!! This is the first time I’ve heard his real voice in a drama, I feel like he has a slightly softer voice than the dubbing actor. I really love him in Killer and Healer as well but unfortunately he was always casted as the super supporting role in other dramas. This might be the third drama he’s in that I’ve seen, the other two being KaH and Noble Aspirations.
Cannot even begin with the tears, although it was short but I’m really happy that Shen CuiXi get to experience real love with Wei LiangGong. She really deserves it. Also Mao ZiJun is such an underrated actor even though he’s only in like 10 episodes. He’s really good at conveying emotions just through his eyes.
Exactly my thoughts!! They had such good chemistry, but episode 16 is just- 🥲
I don’t think I can handle anymore tragedies as well…What ShuFang said to RuFeng at the end isn’t helping with my feels. I hope and pray to the drama gods that Shen CuiXi and Wei LiangGong will have a happy ending because gawd they deserve it so much. 🙏🏻😩
Currently at the newest episode (12) and I must say I’m really hooked on the story, the acting from the actors and actresses are spot on and the cinematography is quite beautiful. Everything is done professionally which is a breath of fresh air for me. I can see how people will find it boring because of what it is about and the slow pacing. Just gotta mention tho I really like Mao ZiJun’s acting in this. Something about his eyes speaks a thousand words…And Jiang QinQin is masterful at portraying a strong independent woman type of character. The scriptwriters know what they were doing and it’s not some dumb Mary Sue crap.
Okay but like, I had a genuine laugh when I discovered this. *Sighs* not sure how I feel about it but I wish they kept the same actors because to me Bai Yu and Zhu YiLong are literally a book-to-real-life incarnation of Zhao YunLan and Shen Wei. I guess it’ll be interesting to see other actors play our characters, it can be terrible or unexpectedly good. Since this is a movie, maybe they might have the budget to make the special effects look less cringy, and of course the script…I guess we’ll see when the time comes.
I just finished this and I'll give it a 9.5, definitely not for everyone but DAMN it was so good. Literally shed tears at the end because the ending was so freaking emotional. I regretted not finishing this earlier because it took me 3 episodes to really get invested in the drama. The acting is phenomenal from our characters especially for a young actor like Bai Yu. Might be the best crime drama I've ever watched :')
