I will confess that xianxia dramas are not typically my thing. Although the costumes and the fight choreography are usually fantastic, they don't usually hold my attention.
But THIS ONE is amazing!

I tried to make it last as long as possible, but watched Ep. 25 today. This drama did not disappoint for one second from beginning to end! The saving grace is I still have the special episode to enjoy tomorrow. This is going on my Top 10 list of CDramas for sure! ❤️ I will miss getting to chat with like-minded fans here too. Just watched episode 24. Oh my, so many feels! So many great scenes by both CZY and ZLS. But when he does that little eyebrow lift while looking at/asking her in the kitchen…🔥❤️🙂 Love so many things about this drama!
Oh, I've been so tempted, because I really want to see what happens -- but I'm just not ready to say goodbye to this drama yet; so watching one a day is just the lesser of two evils for me.. Haha!

Is it bad that I want to TRY to resist watching all of the remaining episodes just because I don’t want it to end? ❤️ (I’m sure I won’t be able to though…this drama is just TOO GOOD.) I will be keeping it playing on repeat for a long time.
This drama blows me away every time with how natural the dialogue and interactions are between the cast members. Every single one of them -- Chen Zheyuan, Zhao Lusi, and Victor Ma in Eps 20 and 21 inhabited their roles perfectly! The scenes before and after Sang Zhi finds out her brother and DJX tussled -- PERFECTION!!
I heard that the sequel First Frost is in the works to tell the story of Sang Yan's own relationship; but WITHOUT Ma Boqian. After Ep 20, I honestly can't picture that drama without him! He may not be the biggest name actor at the moment -- but for me, he is the one who made Sang Yan come to life! The studio needs to reconsider not having him continue to play the part!
I typically prefer modern or historical dramas compared to xianxia, and I was riveted by Where Dreams Begin / The Youth Memories too! But Xiao Zhan’s portrayal of Shi Ying has drawn me in, and easily keeps me watching. So that says a lot. 😁
