And also seems that they all dubbed themselves, which is extra impressive. Now I knew WZC has been practicing…
@Enigma05 - Agreed! Excellent job by all of the cast!

Yes, that's what it sounded like to me too -- that they spoke (and dubbed) their own lines in English! Makes me like this drama even more!

Many of the lines spoken in English sound like the actors actual voices? Very impressive! Especially Wang Tian Chen. (The actor who plays Benjamin). I just finished watching him in Love Song in Winter, and was pleasantly surprised to see him here too. Anyone know more about him/his background? I'm really liking this cast and drama so far. The OST is excellent too!

Didn't even notice she was even there.. That's how unnoticable she is in this movie 😂 but oh well fans of actors…
This movie was actually the first time I've seen her in anything. But your opinion is valid.

Someone needs to release a cookbook and a travel guide companion for this drama! I would buy both! Everything they eat and the places they visit all look SO good!

Hi! During the end credits, there is video of real-life people holding up handwritten messages to the people they regret losing the most. The ML also writes/reads a letter aloud that contains all the things he didn't get to say to his father, and the ML and FL also get some closure with one another. The movie closes with the words, "Don't leave 'I'm sorry' (on your heart) until it's too late."
Very touching ending.

Zhou Ye is especially haunting in this! Now as I am watching her in "Love Me, Love My Voice", I am still having a hard time forgetting her portrayal of Wei Lai -- even though the two characters are polar opposites.

This movie AND its end credits are not to be missed. It’s a little jumpy plot wise, but worth watching. The theme of the film is missed opportunities and regrets. Not light-hearted, but poignant.

What happened to this drama?!? The first episodes were SO good, and then from 18 onward, it was like the writers ran out of steam and started including every possible theme/trope possible just to try to fill up space and get this on the air.
The storyline became so predictable, melodramatic, cliche, and dull. So disappointed in what could have been a top series. I still have about 9 episodes to go, and am just trudging through it solely out of respect for Elaine Zhong (who is AMAZING in this) and Leon Zhang. They make this worth watching/finishing -- but I have to sadly say that I'll be glad when this one is over. Poor, lackluster script for a solid, talented group of actors. What a pity.

I am also a working mother and I agree with you partly on Gu XY’s negative comments an no woman should tolerate…
Thank you for this! I was hoping he would come to his senses and walk a mile in her shoes! I won’t give up on this series yet then. 🙂

As a mother, and a working professional, this drama caught my attention because of its central topic: how does a woman stand and re-discover herself after her world crumbles? The first several episodes were very good, until the appearance of Gu Xu, her childhood friend and classmate.

I fully understand that his character is meant to be there as a reminder to Lin Shuang of what she was, and is still capable of — as a motivator for her to appreciate herself and find her courage to do what she wants to do for once. I applaud the empowerment narrative.
While I agree that there is practically nothing a man can do that a woman could not; the way that Gu Xu goes about “encouraging” Lin Shuang leaves a BAD taste in my mouth.

His words to Lin Shuang are tinged with sarcasm, guilt trip/shaming, and even bitterness. “You disappoint me, Lin Shuang. All these years, what have you been doing?” “You are no longer the old Lin Shuang. When you decide to follow your emotions and devote yourself to being a housewife, the excellent Lin Shuang disappeared.” (around Episodes 7-9) NO. NO. NO. Parenting is not a cop out or a waste of time. It is an investment of heart and soul that has great meaning. If and when you become a parent, you strive to do the best for your child — and that effort is not any less impactful than working in n a corporate office.
Both matter.

If this negative narrative continues of work>home, I may very well drop the rest of this one.

These past several episodes have all been such gold (33-35)! From Luo Meiquan’s conversation with Jian Bing, to Sheng Yang’s talk with his father, Xue Yiming’s chat with Sheng Yang; to Jian Bing opening up to Sheng Yang about her past — everything has been so poignant and real. Why is there only 1 episode left, and why did they wait until the end to show what a true treasure/powerhouse this drama is?? I will miss it so much. 🥺

Ep. 21: Xue Yiming to Jian Bing about Sheng Yang - “So what if he’s handsome? Can being handsome pay the bills?”

Answer: If the person portraying you is Xiao Zhan, then yes. Yes, it can. 😁 And when you add his many talents on top of his looks, then sky’s the limit! 🎉❤️

For me, the enjoyment of watching this drama, not only comes from the story/plot, but from the sense that we are also getting a tiny glimpse of what Xiao Zhan’s life was/could’ve been like if he hadn’t pursued being an actor. It’s the best of both worlds. 😁 I’m loving it!

Ep. 30: Zhu Yan - “Wow, with a person as handsome as Master, I wonder how many women would be infatuated with him if he wasn’t a cultivator.” 😁 Hahahaha.

The answer in real life = far too many to count! 🙂
