I want to give this one a try, I'm aware of the ending so that's not what worries me, what I want to know is if it has a lot of angst, I have anxiety, I can't deal with heavy angst. Now, if the drama does have a lot of angst or is the kind of story where the mains are more time separated than together, can I watch Forever and Ever without having seen One and Only? Like, is it really necessary to watch this one first?
I enjoyed it but I don't know where it started to feel different, I mean, I was hooked in the first episodes but…
My only complaint is, and what made me rate it 6.5, the mains bed scene in ep. 21. She didn't want to sleep with him, she was struggling to get him off her, but he forced her anyways. Later, they acted like nothing happened, romanticizing SA. That's a NO for me.
I enjoyed it but I don't know where it started to feel different, I mean, I was hooked in the first episodes but at the end, I wasn't feeling the same. However, the drama was interesting, the FL was strong and intelligent, I liked the ML wasn't toxic and abusive (like many more in Republican era dramas) and that he was head over heels for her. There are many cheap clichés and some parts were incoherent, but if you want something with action, many steamy kisses, a not-so-bad relationship between the mains and a revenge plot, this one is for you.
Are you wondering if this drama is worth it? the answer is yes, go watch it. The ML is a green flag, he does everything in his power for her to be happy and safe (even if it's not with him). The FL is intelligent and doesn't take her revenge lightly, she's brave and her love for him is beautiful. The plot is interesting, and although I wanted more of the mains being lovey dovey, I never got bored or frustrated.
I usually tend to avoid Republican dramas because the toxic ML is a must in many of them, but I made an exception…
1. Their first night together: the FL wasn't herself, she was drugged with an aphrodisiac so the ML "helped" her. I mean, if she had been in her right mind they wouldn't sleep together so quickly, and I get it, both of them already had feelings for each other but, to me, this wasn't romantic. 2. The SFL SA: yeah, she was a b*tch but no woman deserves to go through that.
I usually tend to avoid Republican dramas because the toxic ML is a must in many of them, but I made an exception with this one thanks to the reviews and I'm glad I gave it a chance, it's fluffier than I expected. The plot is simple but entertaining, I like the FL's personality and the ML wasn't a jerk with her, he was quite cute actually. Their kisses were steamy and their chemistry was so good as well. I enjoyed it very much, however... there were two major things I didn't like (Spoilers below).
This one was good, the ML and the FL are intelligent and strong, their chemistry was great and the kisses even better. The ML was a green flag since the beginning and I kind of liked that our FL didn't fall so quickly for him, she wanted revenge and nothing would stop her. The plot was predictable but interesting, I didn't get bored, I finished the drama in a blink. I don't understand the lower rating (as of now is 7.3).
hellocan someone spoil to me .. is there second couple or is it triangle love
At first, is a love square: A(FL) likes B(ML), B likes C, C likes D and D likes A, this doesn't develop into something toxic and angsty, actually it's not even something important in the story and doesn't last many episodes. Later is a slight love triangle between A, B and D, again, it doesn't last. To me, the annoying one was when they were in college, because even when A and B liked each other, neither of them said anything so there were some misunderstandings but they resolved quickly.
Putting aside that I wanted more romance and that I hated the love triangle in their college days, this drama was beautiful. I loved Huan Er as our narrator, I felt related to so many of their experiences, like feeling I'm left behind, that grades are my only worth, that everyone is doing better than me or not knowing what to do now that I'm an adult when society expects me to know my way. I related particularly with Song Cong, being one of the few students with good grades since kindergarten but not making it good in college, hence being hard on myself for many years. I felt their growth as my own. I would've loved for my 18yo self could've seen this drama, she could've felt less lost and alone.
Like many people here, I started the novel while I wait for the drama, but I'm an impatient girl, please, someone spoil me in which chapter does Xiao Jue know that He Yan (the present He Yan) is a girl?
