I feel the other way around. LBY is a manipulator, knowing what is to come and what he would do for revenge. Making someone fall in love with you knowing you don't care if you live or die as long as you get revenge is not ok.

I do not know the real reason but basically too many works with time travel was done during a few years. China wanted people to appreciate the here and now, and not dream of going back in time to be a princess. This is my understanding of it and it was quite many years ago since I heard it so may not be correct.

Time travel :) Which is why the element was removed from the drama. It is also why now days instead of time travel the character ends up in a book or tv series or something of the sort.
