In the novel she is, also older, but since it's a banned topic in China we just get a handy teenager instead.
I do not know the real reason but basically too many works with time travel was done during a few years. China wanted people to appreciate the here and now, and not dream of going back in time to be a princess. This is my understanding of it and it was quite many years ago since I heard it so may not be correct.

Time travel :) Which is why the element was removed from the drama. It is also why now days instead of time travel the character ends up in a book or tv series or something of the sort.
Is there really so much comedy/silliness as it seems in the trailer?
So the comedy trailer is basically just snippets of the comedy that actually happen. It is not a romcom so even though there are like a few minutes in some episodes that are funny, 95% of the drama is more serious.
So in the preview the Empress says "Get out of the c something palace." I forgot the name xD But anyway the Empress palace. Since the editing team is quite tricky with lines and camera angles I am wondering if she is actually saying it to Shao Shang, like it seems, or to someone else. If she is throwing Shao Shang out I would be sad.
I approve of the way the morning assembly is handled in this palace. First time I've seen that the officials are allowed to sit down. Much nicer this way xD
There was this unhinged YY stan on the WRTW page who was spouting all kinds of hate on ZLS, calling her unprofessional…
Yeah I am really happy that LLTG has so many live streams and so many people are sharing nice things about Lusi. Even some background actors and other people and set has praised her.
