It would have been nice to see more reactions from Lanxi yeah.

I thought Lusi really did well with her scenes in these two. She sure has improved a lot with her crying technique compared to Love of a thousand years. I thought it was good at least that she got to see her brother again before he died. From the preview I thought maybe he died before she got there and that would have been really sad.
I approve of her feeling like she had no family left, because her family really did love her a lot.

I agree that it feels really strange now that king Yong had a complete turnaround to support Lanxi. But I suppose this drama wants to put forward the fact that it's a virtue to forgive or something.

Well I think some people rate based on how much they enjoy it, like me xD, and some people make their reviews after thinking more about how good the story, character development, acting and etc is. I would say both ways are fine but if you read a review from someone who personally enjoyed it without a lot of critical thinking you can take it all with a grain of salt. Looking forward to your review :)

Yeah I thought about trying it but it seemed a bit too sad for me tbh. I prefer mystery or something more easy going usually.

I guess these writers really like that show.

I feel like maybe she gives up being a princess and does something else instead xD But she will definitively be heartbroken. Maybe she decides to sacrifice herself for YWY trying to save him at some point? Her character feels a bit out of place though, since she has not really had an impact on anything.

I liked the fact that Xiyun stayed true to herself. Even though she did love him ruling was not something she enjoyed. She would have been a great empress ofc but the world is a heavy burden I believe she did not want to carry. I also thought it was quite nice that it was great that it was a male lead who gave up his ambition to be with his love, instead of the other way around. But we all like different stuff :D

Are there things that could have been better? Sure! But basically all shows could have done something differently. But this is still the series I have enjoyed the most recently and I will have many fond memories of it.

I think the new emperor just gave up since he feels quite powerless. He will probably be happier not being emperor.

Queen Xiyun sure kicked some butt! I found it funny that Huang Chao made his sister follow YWY, just to make sure she did not die, which also stopped him from doing sneaky stuff. Though it sure would have stopped a lot of strife if Xiyun let Huang Chao fall on the sword I feel like it was not really her style either.

Wedding scene was really nice, though the red room went by quite fast. The bts of that was very sweet and funny too.

Yeah but they are not encouraged to do it xD Which is why some change names for the second season. Idk the reason but that was one of my guesses anyway. Who knows what the government actually thinks about anything.

One guess I have is since the longer the show, more money is spent. I think maybe the government might want the entertainment business to spend less? I do not know, this is just one guess I have.

Not everyone watches the previews as they don't want to know what happens next. But thank you <3

I think it would have been great if they had removed maybe one of the palace schemes to add more about him, because really even if he is in the opening song and all I think his character had less time compared to Lanxi fam.
