If you love over the top chemistry between the main leads I recommend giving Killer and Healer a try (if you haven't already). For me it's like 1.000times above Guardian. I really love Guardian for the chemistry of Zhu Yilong and Bai Yu but Killer and Healer tops that without effort.

The most BL you can get from a Chinese tv show, imho. If they weren't in love than some scenes and dialogues wouldn't make much sense and you may ask what much of the drama would have been for. But that's just my opinion. π

I now remember some lovely short stories at AO3 I read which you may also like (they both crossed a line which the drama never could but neither of the stories goes too far). But if you haven't finished the drama yet maybe you should wait until you have watched episode 35. They may contain some minor spoilers.

They do. I enjoyed the first subbed episodes. It's very close to the tv drama but they add a lot. I am happy that some ppl make the effort to sub the audio drama.

As far as I remember at least the voice actors who dubbed JYL, CYZ and Sun Yongren are in the audio drama and act as the same characters. I don't know their names right now but they appear in the outro of the tv drama (only Chinese characters though).
I've read that the novel and the audio drama have better endings. Waiting now for both to be fully translated to know how they end. If you haven't already came across them I can recommend both. They add a lot without straying too far from the tv show.

I've read that the ending of the novel is different (should be a happier one) but as it is not fully translated yet, Idk. I've read the translation of steamy wonton and it's a very good read. Adds a lot to the drama and feels not too different from the tv show.
I also recommend the audio drama. It has some more fluffy stuff than the tv drama (because of censorship) but only 5 episodes subbed. You can find the audio drama on the Twitter account of moonlight pavilion. Give it a try it's really nice and feels much like the tv show as many voice actors are the same who dubbed the actors in the tv show. Right now there exists only a season 1 of the audio drama with 12 episodes in Mandarin but I hope they will continue and if they do I'm pretty sure that the audio drama also will have a happy ending.
